NBD! Rickenbacker SnoGlo w/ Checkerboard Binding

...as long as the finish doesn't lift at the tailpiece.

I does not. :)

That's great, but I wasn't referring to tailpiece lift, but the lifting of the paint along the front edges/corners of the bridge. It will show as either little bubbles or shattering of the finish. I sincerely hope your rare bass does not eventually do it; on my Sea Green 4001C64 Rickenbacker repainted it several times under warranty and installed a masking tape gasket (I know) on the bottom of the bridge (whose corners they filed down) in an effort to keep the finish from lifting. I, like you, paid $$$$$$ just for a rare color bass...and in the end Rickenbacker couldn't even match the original color (Special Green) hence the change to Sea Green.

Good luck!

Ah, OK. I'll keep an eye out for that.

Just gave this beauty a test drive. First off, it's had flats it's whole life. I've never used flats, so this feels a little strange, but damn, the tone kills! It's still really growly, I can't imagine how it would sound with rounds. I think I'm going to stick with the flats!

And it's so gorgeous in person. The checkerboard binding is killer. I love the look of the PU cover, but it's definitely in the way. Will be changing that .

All in all, it's awesome!

Now that's nice. Reminds of a white 4001 I had several years ago with Cheq binding. It was 100% genuine yet when I came to sell it I got wind that those clowns at RRF were calling it a possible fake.

Reminds me of Maurice Gibb's RM1999.
