I did that same when my '37 Regal (huge old acoustic, no case) arrived in December - deliveridiots couldn't ring the doorbell, it sat out overnight in a subzero snowstorm. Garage for 24 hours, inside 24 more, no problems.I got my acoustic bass last year and waited two days to open it I kept it inside the box for one day then I opened the case a tiny bit and let it sit for another day. I know it was overkill but I just paid more than I should have for an acoustic bass and I wasn't taking any chances.

You know, we're having a crazy cold and snowy winter here like we haven't for decades, but I have to say, I'm glad that I'm unfamiliar with the phrase "we had a level 3 here"! Blizzard, I assume?I very stupidly bought a bass during some bad weather last year and it sat on the back of a truck for almost a week because we had a level 3 here and they couldn't get on the roads. It was over a week and a half late and to add salt to the wound the delivery person was a very small woman who pretty much dragged it from her truck to my door I couldn't get out there fast enough to help her.
One of the worst snow storms we ever had it was a record snow year I have no idea what I was thinkingYou know, we're having a crazy cold and snowy winter here like we haven't for decades, but I have to say, I'm glad that I'm unfamiliar with the phrase "we had a level 3 here"! Blizzard, I assume?
OP - what exactly is it in the box? Modern finished solidbodies (especially poly) are less an issue, than say, my 77 year old acoustic.![]()
