NCAA Football - 2011

OK and Gators fans worried about the #1 recruiting class?
I think you're asking if we're concerned about FSU getting the #1 class?

Not really. FSU had more open slots (29 signings vs. 19 for the Gators), UF had a coaching change to deal with, and the ratings distribution among the signees is about the same even though the Gators are at #12. Each school had about 40% of their signees in the ESPNU Top 150. More importantly for the Gators, they snagged two highly-rated QBs. Get that position fixed and a lot of things fall into place.

Isn't that bad? Shouldn't that be a reason to be worried?

What was the ranking of the QB from Florida the Gators got? He looks amazing, if FSU needed a QB I'm sure he would've gotten a scholarship offer. :p

My favorite thing about FSUs recruits this year is the defensive theme, FSU hasn't had the defense it used to in quite awhile, maybe it could be coming back.

Oh boy, now you just pissed off basstotheface. Look out.

Then again, this may be one of those days where he is a big fan of the Longhorns instead. So he may not care about the SEC or ACC today. :D

Gosh I am predictable.

And nope I'm a Longhorn on odd days of the week.

EDIT: BTW not much hope for the Longhorns next season, mostly because of the reasons I pointed out for UF.

The Florida juggernaut beaten 31-7? The Florida juggernaut with a new coach? The Florida juggernaut that went 8-5? The Florida juggernaut that has an almost completely new staff?
The Florida Juggernaut that has won more national championships in the last 10 years than any other school. The Florida Juggernaut that recruits top 10 classes year after year just because of the name. The Florida Juggernaut that has owned FSU longer than most high school recruits can remember.

Compared to FSU who hasn't been relevant in years, and still hasn't proven anything with the hire of Fisher. I'm not saying he won't get it done, but he's got a long road ahead of him. Muschamp has as much of a pedigree as Fisher if not more so. If I had to bet so early in the game, my money would be on Florida being the better program of the two over the next 3-5 years. Being in the SEC also counts for a lot, while being in the ACC is a negative these days.

Don't get me wrong, I really don't care either way. I prefer to see a strong Florida team since I'm an SEC guy. I won't mind seeing FSU have some success either, though I'm still fairly angry with the way Bowden was treated.

I think juggernaut should mean more than being good for 10 years. Coaches are huge, would Alabama be the same without Nick Saban? I don't think so. Florida won't be the same without Urban Meyer, at least I don't think so and I love Muschamp. Florida has owned FSU for like 4 years, that is longer than most high school recruits can remember?

How is a 10 win season, making it to a conference championship (although I will admit the ACC isn't great, but VT is pretty darn good) and beating the SEC east winner (UF's division) not proving anything? Also since when has FSU not been relevant for a long time? 4 years isn't exactly considered Cleveland.

OOOhhhhhh boy! It's mid-February and the Bammers and Barners are already at it arguing which fan-base is more delusional.

I think of a juggernaut as a team that has so much momentum that they're hard to stop, at least consistently. The Florida program is a machine now. Muschamp will have to really suck to mess it up, kinda like Zook. I don't think he'll do that. FSU is stuck in mediocrity. Fisher will have his hands full pulling them out. It can be done. Bama was as deep into that zone as any when Saban took over, so I believe it's possible. Just wouldn't bet on it at this point since he's not proven. I really don't mean to imply more than that.

Now back to what really matters! Cam Newton being declared ineligible!!!! :D

Actually, six years--Zook won his last one at Tallahassee after he'd been fired, knocking FSU out of a BCS berth and after the field was named Bobby Bowden Field before the game. Then Urban won the game each of his first five years. Combined score over those years: 202-71. Not that anyone's counting.:D

Yeah, 6 years, which puts most high school guys now back in the 6th grade when FSU won before this past year. That's an eternity to an 18 year old.

Yeah but i'm gonna say 5 years for owning, because Urban Meyer "owned" Zook didn't they just won. But UF most certainly "owned" for Urban's first 5 years.
