NCAA Football 2022

I grew up in the Sooner nation but have lived in Texas for many, many years.
It took years to pull for UT but I'm all in now (except when they play OU).
Anyone from this area knows how deep this rivalry runs.
I stopped watching the Texas game with one minute to go
because I didn't want to see UT blow it.
Watching them outplay Bama made my day,
but I couldn't stand to see the inevitable ending.
BTW,
No one has said anything about last year's Big 12 conference champion Baylor.
BYU shot them to the curb, so what's up with that?...057912

Wazzu beat Bucky and Washington beat somebody or another. Ivies start next week. Life is good.
My take is pretty different, Mike. A pick six, and another INT that set up Kentucky 6 yards from the goal line, accounted for 14 of their 26 points. Aside from that, Kentucky only scored 12. Anthony Richardson had a pretty bad game. It's not all his fault, UF's wideouts and tight ends seem to be a pretty weak group this year. But he's going to have to take better care of the ball and get on the same page with the receivers.
And eight days later, ND is (deservedly) unranked. Their offense really doesn't look good.
Frost failed miserably at Nebraska and is still going to get paid $15,000,000 not to coach there. If he had any decency, he'd give that back or donate it to the school.

Kentucky fan here. I actually live right across the street from the stadium on the campus. We started 2-0, just beat florida at home. We might go 11-1, georgia is the hard one left on schedule. Mark Stoops is the man....
If I understand what I've read correctly, that would have been cut in half if Nebraska could have waited until October 1. It's not like the program is going to be turned around this season.
That's a lucrative failure. Too bad the rest of us can't cash in like that.
Oklahoma State is 2-0, and Spencer Sanders is looking good. Still some missed throws here and there, though. I'm feeling better about going to Waco in two weeks to play Baylor after BYU (a soon-to-be Big 12 member) beat them. Here's a stat for you: last year, Oklahoma State's 3rd-ranked defense had 15 tackles for loss through the first two games. This year, they have 21 already. Their front seven are scary good.
Yeah, poor timing but they were not doing great anyways. I go to all home games - it's been rough. Is what it is though. Nebraska has really not much to lose any more this season so hopefully they'll be able to maybe knock someone off or win another game or two. I just hope they keep it close.
Nebraska has paid out a lot in recent years to former coaches who could not restore the program back to something. It's nothing new however just yet another. Hopefully this time they think about it long and hard and get someone great with a proven track record at a high level. They actually will only be paying him about half that. He took a pay cut prior to this season and his buyout was lowered but that is still a lot of money.
He did take a paycut, but the lower buyout had a contingency they ignored.
The buyout would have been $7,500,000 if they fired him after October 1st, but the AD mumbled some gibberish about the players needing a new voice sooner than that, so they gave Frost an extra $7,500,000 because they couldn't wait 19 days.
What? Are they going to hire a new coach and win a couple games before October 1st? I'm going to go ahead and say no.

Yes, I forgot about that as well. No, they have an interim coach who will likely finish this season. But I'd like to think perhaps they could not just wait because they have been in talks with someone else but still dumb to not wait unless of course again the boosters and such are hammering down. A lot of our fanbase is still stuck in the glory years of the 90's. Like I said though they do need to get it right this time. The school and fan base cannot settle for consistent sub-par and lower again and again. They'll likely wait until the off season to make an official hire.
I suspect the game on Saturday against OU had a lot to do with the immediate change. Not that it will likely matter.
The thinking may be fire him now and not wait because what if he wins two or three in a row? Folks would be second guessing firing him when he's finally turning things around.
There have been "insider" reports saying that the difference in payoff was covered by supporters. Don't know if that's accurate but it would make sense.
Could be likely. The boosters and alumni have quite a bit of power...but who doesn't when they have their pocketbook ready to be opened.
