No. TCU will not play an SEC team. The best the can hope for is Georgia Tech. The SEC runner-up will play Cinci in the Sugar Bowl.

so much for texas's ballyhoo'd defense. giving up that many yards this late in the season isn't good, especially to a bad aggie team.

glad i didn't get the opportunity to watch this game--i'd have been livid at a-n-m for not coming out with the win despite having the opportunity to pull off the upset of the year.

thursday night games are always a bit wacky (and always losses, if you're south florida), but... well... texas will have their hands full against nebraska. keep in mind that i've been calling for that upset for a few weeks now. it looks like a reasonable possibility just a few days away, now.

You know, if the rest of the country considers games like the Horns-A&M game to be exciting, maybe I'm just a weirdo. I was extremely bored by the whole game. By the 3rd quarter, it was practically a given that each team was going to score each time they got the ball. Absolutely zero defensive confidence whatsoever.

I much prefer a low scoring game where the offense OR defense could make a game changing play at any given second. Nebraska could very well beat Texas it seems as they do play some defense there. We'll see if they can score. But I have little doubt now that Bama or Florida will have no problem handling the Longhorns. By the 4th quarter, I was pulling for A&M just because Texas was so embarrassing. They deserve to get jumped by TCU.

Well, my dad's an Aggie and I'm a Sooner, so it was a very anti-orange house last night :D But I agree, Texas was embarrassing last night and really do deserve to get jumped by TCU - if they destroy New Mexico on Saturday.

I'm not sure that the bigger question is how the hell did the Aggies lose 5 games with those guys? Totally unacceptable.

No doubt the Frogs should get a shot a the title but that ain't happening. They are too far behind points-wise.

What the Frogs have to do is beat the hell out of somebody in the BCS bowl they go to. They have to keep the pressure up. It is the only way the system will change.

On a related note, the Sooners need to do something and handle OSU. That way Boise gets in, too.

Yeah, seriously. I'm sure next season will be a different story, but as it stands they've been way too green this season. They're playing OSU in Norman, so hopefully the home field advantage will give them the boost they need to beat the Pokes.

And when Mike Sherman inherited the head coaching position he had to deal with a very pitiful Aggie team. My dad was telling me that he went through old recruiting reports and pulled sophomores that Franchione had ignored, only to find that they were running better times than Franchione's recruits.

So Texas has one mediocre-ish game and everybody is already prepared to throw them under the bus? :p

Lest we forget Alabama's near loss to a mediocre Tennessee, or Florida's 3 point win over a mediocre Arkansas. And of course a guy with "Sooner" in his title would hate on the burnt orange. :D



I agree that Texas did not play to their full potential last night - but they did what they had to to win the game, and McCoy had an amazing night. Bring on Nebraska.

Both of those mediocre teams are from the SEC. It makes a difference. Anything can happen there.

Uh huh. Typical "We're the SEC and we're all better than you" stuff. Sorry, but asides from Florida, Bama, and MAYBE LSU and Ole Miss, the SEC has had a pretty bad year. Unless you're going to tell me Vanderbilt has a good chance at crushing somebody cause "anything can happen here"

Here's a clue for you: There's nothing that happens over there that doesn't happen over here. SEC elitism is one of the most annoying things in college sports.

you can go back and read about my opinion of florida right after the arkansas game, but better that that happened in mid-season than right before a conference championship.

auburn's giving bama a game, but it looks like the elephants have it under control now.

Funny you should bring that up. Florida allowed 20 points to a team that averages 38 points a game. Texas gave up 39 against a team that averages 34 points a game. And that's the most points the Gators have given up in a game all season long thus far.

Defense is a very big component of championships (I won't say they "win" it, because I think that overstates things a little). And just like last year, the Big 12's top teams (outside of Nebraska, I suppose) have yet to show they can play consistently good D.
