need a 4x10..cant choose!!!

Do you know any bass players you could borrow a cab from for that one gig? I know we have a good rental place around here people could get a cab for a single gig also. Just a thought, butight help you to afford a better cab afterward if borrowing or renting is an option.

What would you consider a better/good cab compared to the ones I am looking at? I may be able to swing it, but again, they have to offer it at AMS

My thought, also - I'd rather rent or borrow to make the gig money, then shop afterwards with cash in hand for a deal on a better quality cab...

The Ampeg SVT-410HLF, SWR Golight 410, TC Electronics RS410, Hartke Hydrive 410, Epifani PS410. These are all available at AMS and are steps up from the ones listed in the original post. Again, it depends on the tone you want and what you are looking for. Some of them might not be available in 8ohm, they will have different wattage specs, but you gotta know what you want and look 'em over. A lot of them aren't much more than what you where looking at before.

I may be able to swing one of those, just don't want to brake the family every month, 80 bucks is a lot to us!

Totally understand that! I thought maybe you could use the money from the New Years gig, but I also understand with bills and such, that even if the gig pays that well, you still have bills to pay! The TC Electronics cab you listed looks like it might be pretty cool. I know I thought the SWR Workingpro 410 was supprising for the price point, although fairly heavy!

what do you think of that Hartkey 4.5? in the future I am either going to get a TC head or a hartkey head, should the cab's match? I dont know what to get, I went to GC yesterday and they did not have either of the heads to try them out!

In the end It won't really matter (IMO). I never play in the same room that often, different cabs will sound different in different rooms / venues. Go with reliability and stay within your cost.

The cabs don't have to match, it just looks prettier. That being said I like pretty sometimes.

I personally think very highly of the Hartke 4.5xl. It is deeper then the regular 410xl and has great tone. Only problem is it weighs a lot!!! I have owned and used one for several years before getting my much lighter Genz Benz cab.

I know it is up to me but, I have no chance to try these out...so would you go for the 4.5 or the TC? Thats what I have narrowed it down to!

The two 210XL cabs weigh about 34 pounds each. Makes for an easy load out/in. I like them because with my VT pedal and an HA2500 head they give a pretty good ampeg sound, being sealed individual cabs.

I have a brand new GK MBX410 that I got for stupid cheap on clearance deal at GC. Unfortunatly, I am without an amp head at the moment, so I cant comment on the tone.

It does however make a kickin end table.;)
