You're talking to me:) ? So you puplicly say that the f-serial numbers are more desirable than my e-serial? Wait 'till you buy the next instrument that is inferior to one of mine. I have plenty of time...!
I did not mean to imply that at all..:) I know almost nothing about Japanese fenders, especially 80's ones. I looked up the serial number on a website that says it was made at the Fugi-gen factory and that those are supposed to be good quality. I initially thought that the "f" in the serial number stood for Fugi-gen, but I don't believe this is that case.

Word. This bass looks exactly like mine, and it goes guardless.
Beautiful it is, indeed.

OP- nice lookin' bass you got there. :)
Enjoy.
Thanks, I think overall it was a good deal, one of those right place at the right time things. The body is in remarkably good shape, the neck was straight and frets in very good condition. The pickups hummed a bit and one of the pots dropped in and out (volume wise) when I pressed on it. However the store tech said he would clean everything out, check soldering and add some shielding in the cavity. Also it's a passive bass so the pots and wiring should be extremely simple and cheap to replace if needed?
