Am I wrong? It's like 95% of the folks here were the fat kid with glasses and braces in high school who got picked on and now that they have a bass hobby, profession, or whatever, they become keyboard warriors...Why can't we all just get along! LOL, not really but LOL anyway.

Maybe it's you. I see the occasional shitposter but for the most part this is one of the most respectful and mature places on the internet that i know of.
At my age it's pretty easy to let stuff go. But.....my favorite reply to virtually any post about anything is the smug "should have got a Fender...". Sometimes I'll thumb through posts just to see how quick it pops. At the end of the day though so many nice people, great gear and quick info about anything.
I am amazed at how with such great speed, and with such gusto, everyone in the entire universe, will challenge you, argue with you, state "facts", whether true or not, on every aspect of yours and everyone else's lives.
Well. You know what they say. Never look a gift burrito in the mouth. I think, all sorts. But the obvious answer would be 'None of the above', or 'Vegan'. They do grow on trees, after all. I'm not fussy. However, I'd have no beef with chicken which is my go-to burrito.
That was probably because one of the rules on the classified board is it isn't to be used for discussions. The powers that be have asked comments there be kept to a minimum.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should members disrupt sellers' threads by posting challenging, derogatory posts, or in fact post anything that is not either directly related to purchasing the item advertised or at the very least specifically complimentary, to the seller or the item being sold. To do otherwise is to risk a trolling infraction.
These threads are NOT discussion threads. Your opinion is irrelevant and unwelcome unless -specifically- asked for.
If I have a question on a classified ad item because I am seriously considering a purchase, I just PM the seller.
If it's more a "seeking general recommendations" sort of thing about something I found in the classifieds, I'll start a new thread like I did when I was shopping for a phase shifter
I primarily play with a pick even though I started on bass playing fingers, and it isn't strictly for tone but also a lot for playing style: I tend to play chords a lot. Plus I personally feel that a pick affords me more tone and especially attack control when I'm playing.
Nothing riles the armchair aficionados like mentioning the accursed plectrum.

Joe, a sure sign of "The Jack", is a higher than normal, raised LEFT eyebrow, during periods of intense conflagration... raised RIGHT eyebrow, and he gets the top bunk, but only in Italy... simple as that.
There is a recent thread about someone wanting advice on what cheap used bass to buy to get a bright sound... My answer was steel strings. So I am guilty. But also why is this a problem? Like minded people who share the same passion can attempt to get to the root of a question and perhaps suggest the approach to the problem be re-evaluated. To me I find it helpful when folks do that with my posts. Maybe I'm making things too complicated, and I need some bassy brothers and sisters to point me in the right direction.
Some dudes just love to argue or take a difference of opinion as seriously as an insult to their god or something. Grown men can be very sensitive. Pathetic but what can you do? It is what it is *shrug*
There is a lot of good information on TB. I've come to know some really nice people and some really knowledgeable people. Overall I'd rate it a good experience.
The thing that disappoints me the most about TB is the close-mindedness of some of the members. I guess I was expecting more "hey, has anybody tried ..." and less "there's only one way to do this." Probably a small, but vocal minority.
I'm also surprised at the level of d'baggery that some members resort to. One member quoted one of my posts and changed the wording to try to get me banned. Fortunately we have some good moderators who took the time to discover the truth. Another follows me around like a lost little puppy dog trying to engage me. You don't like me or what I say? Cool, put me on ignore and try to get a life.
