Did the guy at the hardware store tell you that your hammer would drill holes?
Yes he did.

Did the guy at the hardware store tell you that your hammer would drill holes?
From the original post -
" I ordered a 15x8 cab from Jorg at Schroeder, approx 8 months ago. Initially, I wanted an 8 ohm cab, as to potentially utilize with a second cabinet. Jorg encouraged me to go with a 4ohm cabinet. He claimed he had a "box" that would enable me to run both 4ohm cabinets at a 4ohm load. He said he would include the box for free."
He had nothing. He wanted an 8 ohm cab. After discussing with Jorg he was sold on the 4ohm.
Now this all may be true or not.
However if we are working on the premise of what the OP said, he was sold on the 4 when he originally wanted an 8.
why such vitriol?
The OP gave his side.
Jorg has by now been told about this thread and has chosen not to give his side.
You have your experiance and the OP has his.
Now we can all do with this information what choose.
Pretty simple stuff.
I bolded that because in post #120, he says this: " I, originally, was considering a 15+2x10 cab. 4 ohms." So you see we were getting some different info at this point, along with the fact of his being unfamiliar with Speakon cables, which added to his difficulty in using the box, or at least getting it hooked up right, which, according to him, he finally got sorted out. What do you mean he had nothing ? He had the 15/8 cab from Jorg that he was using for awhile, then got the box, then he ordered a new cab. You call that nothing ?? And you still have not answered my question about how you know Jorg knows about this thread and is choosing not to answer. From the original post -

he didn't have the 15x8. read the original again. He was ordering that cabinet with the intent of pairing with another cab he would buy in the future.I bolded that because in post #120, he says this: " I, originally, was considering a 15+2x10 cab. 4 ohms." that is fair.No ecitement here just calling it like I see. Its obvious by whats already been stated here the customer has no idea what hes talking about.
I give up. And you still have not answered the question about Jorg.he didn't have the 15x8. read the original again. He was ordering that cabinet with the intent of pairing with another cab he would buy in the future.
First paragraph of OP
" Initially, I wanted an 8 ohm cab, as to potentially utilize with a second cabinet."
If you read the original post it is very clear that he laid out what he wanted with Jorg and then ordered products based on the recommendation.I give up. And you still have not answered the question about Jorg.
Read the OP again. He only ordered the first cab 4 ohm after being promised a magic box for the future combined rig.Disagree. He had the first cab, and used it for some time. He then wanted to order another cab, when Jorg threw in the box to make it work. AND THE BOX WORKS in allowing him to use both cabs. We can throw analogies at each other all day. Bottom line, he got what Jorg said he would get. Now, the OP chooses not to try it. Simple stuff, no ? And please tell me how you know Jorg is aware of this thread and chooses to not to participate in it ?
Have you ever considered the possibilty that OP has misunderstood some vital points? If you read the original post it is very clear that he laid out what he wanted with Jorg and then ordered products based on the recommendation.
Clearly you have decided the OP is a liar.
I have taken him at his word.
I give up too.
That is not what the OP was promised. He was told that he should get a 2nd 4ohm cab and the retailer would provide a solution to his minimum 4ohm load. Regardless as to whether to box works or not, the OP has not been able to use it and has received virtually no direction form the manufacturer. That to my mind is the issue.
Fishheadjoe
Sorry, but no.
Jorg was telling him to get 2 4ohm cabs instead of 8's. The selling point was that he was giving him a box that would make it all work.
No box and the guy doesn't buy it. He was lead to believe this package was the key. It's not a package without the box.
Sorry, you analogy is wrong.

I have no disrespect to dish out to OP or Jorg. But I think the take home story, besides don't get your panties in a bind when it's not your money, is, if you want to build a complex system, out of complex parts, learn all the aspects of how they interact, how to operate them, and about compatibility (hint: impedance is everything in audio). Otherwise, buy a system that's known to work, like a whole system from one manufacturer, then still learn how they interact and how to operate them. Otherwise buy a combo and learn how to operate it.It's easy for tech-savvy people to say that the OP should have known better
From what the OP said, that's exactly what he set out to do before the seller convinced him to buy the more complex system he didn't really want. Should we blame the OP for that?I have no disrespect to dish out to OP or Jorg. And clearly that statement you made about Jorg having been notified about this thread is a lie also. Unless you have some proof of it, which you are conveniently ignoring my requests to show it. I never called the Op a liar, do not put words in my mouth. If you read the original post it is very clear that he laid out what he wanted with Jorg and then ordered products based on the recommendation.
