New 2019 Schecter Jazz Basses

Wow - I hadn't noticed these 2019 J models yet. Schecter USA pickups are top notch. I have an Apocalypse C5 with Schecter USA double J pickups and they are incredible sounding. Powerful, growly, organic & clear. I wouldn't imagine anything less from a single coil version. I notice the J models have a push/pull coil tap - I'm guessing for series mode? I'll have to keep an eye out for these at local stores.

I also noticed that Sweetwater is already carrying another exciting 2019 model - the SLS Elite 4 & 5-string basses with the Fishman Fluence pickups that seem to be a new kind of pickup technology. Schecter is doing some pretty sweet new instruments!

I purchased 1st Schecter just over 2 years ago, a new dUg Pinnick signature Baron H. I liked it so much I ordered a Michael Anthony signature and that started my obsession with Schecters. I've since have found and purchased 5 used Schecters Basses, 4 old style Model-T's and a 2nd Michael Anthony. 6 of 7 were purchased sight unseen and all of them are superb instruments. I don't think that it's just my good luck, I believe it's great craftsmanship.

I've never owned a Jazz Bass of any flavor and I had been looking for a J+. I heard from a TBer a month ago that the J+'s were discontinued and these were coming.
Being that I like Black and Maple, I plan on getting a Sea Foam Green Model and paint the body black. Like all my other Schecter Basses I'll fabricate a poppin' custom pickguard for it. I may even replace the neck pickup with a MonsterTone P. It will depend upon how I like the MonsterTone J's with the push/pull pots for coil tapping. I can't wait to test the MonsterTone J's out.

All the specs can be found here on Schecters site; Invalid Link Removed

I love spoke wheel truss adjustments at the heel - super convenient & no worry about carrying around the right sized allen wrench with you on a gig (or accidentally stripping a truss rod nut for that matter).

I notice that the pole pieces are quite a bit larger than your average J pickup - I'm thinking this instrument will have a healthy output volume & a great dynamic attack to the notes.

Looking forward to seeing one of these in local stores.
