New 2019 Schecter Jazz Basses

These look dope. Bound to be a big seller. Just wish it was a 9.5 radius, 16 is pretty flat

If you get a chance, go try one and see what you think. I've got those same specs on my Stiletto Vintage and for some reason it just works on that thin Schecter neck. When I bought it, I didn't even know the radius number, I just loved the feel of it. I was actually kind of surprised when it checked out the neck details afterwards.

I never actually got it (ahem) but I liked it so my much I ordered a custom Jazz-style neck from USAG-slim with the 16 radius to put on my P-bass.

I’m pretty invested in lightening the load. I mean an 11 lb pbass is all good for tone and sustain, but when you can get down to 8.5 and relatively speaking get the same results it’s not really a debate. Weight is not posted on this one but every schecter I’ve ever owned or played has come in on the light side. One more reason to gas over this one...

Damn those are nice. I do wish they didn't come with those cheap Chinese bridges though. Or at least make the hole pattern line up with a regular fender bridge.
They look to be higher-mass bridges than standard Fender bridges (sort of like a babicz bridge, almost?)... As for the hole pattern, it actually gives you more aftermarket options than just Fender retrofits.

Funny that this thread popped up, because I was struggling between one of these and a PRS Kestrel earlier this week when shopping for a new J. Price wise they are about the same. I ended up with the Kestrel. Defining features were the hardware (all Hipshot) and the neck through build on the Kestrel.

Oh.....and the thought of my thumb resting on a uncovered pickup was kind of a deal killer for me. :rollno:

If anyone picks up one of these new sweet Schecter's , I'd be super interested to hear what you think of it.

I can vouch for the bridge - there's nothing cheap about it. It's a solid, high quality, high mass bridge that adjusts with a very solid & quality feel - same bridge as on the Apocalypse I own.

Every bit as quality feeling as what you'd find from Hipshot, etc. As far as the hole pattern specifically matching another brand - I don't imagine that was a high priority factor in the design.

I did play one at guitar center and the bridge did seem pretty nice, but I had an esp with an almost identical bridge, and the adjustment screws all rusted and locked up. I'm glad to hear they're using a higher quality one though. It does look nice.

As far as I can tell with them the screws are positioned slightly to the left, so the hipshot bridges don't fit. Do you know if any that do?
Oh, I didn't see that. My eyesight isn't the best (especially when it comes to computer screens). The bridges are good quality stock from what I've heard, and if you really really need a new one you can always fill the old holes and re drill. I think you can e-mail the guys at Schecter too. They could give you better information than I can, that's for sure!

Not sure what ESP is using for bridges - a lot of bridges are often re-badged or slightly modified name brands in disguise (but some truly are inexpensive off brands though), but humidity & salt air conditions tends to takes it toll on hardware no matter what brand you have.
