New Aguilar SL110 cabs.

You’d make it down those stairs in record time with a DB810. It’s even got handles for you to hold on to it!

I don't care enough to fuss with it. They sound great, that's all I know.
I hope so. The DB 210 was one of my favorite cabs. I only sold mine years ago due to the weight. HEAVY!! But it was my only cabinet for years. Used with a Markbass LittleMark3, the combo satisfied my tone bones.
My DB210 was a killer cab but no way was I bringing it out of the house. That sucker was heavy.

This new cab sounds phenomenal and is a much needed annd will be a much appreciated addition to the lineup!!
I too have asked the Dave’s for years about making a single 10. They’re may not have been a huge market back then but now it’s game on and this is an excellent competitor.
I just finished day 5 with the new SL110 and my th350. Did 3 gigs and hours of comparisons at home with the SL112 with different basses like a Sadowsky NYC 5, a Metroline MIG SingleCut 5, a Mustang with flats and also did a loud gig on upright with a power trio doing 90s hip hop jams.
This cab can hang. Same signature sound in a smaller package. The tone is amazing and has exceeded my expectations honestly. This is a legit bass rig that can handle a low B. I got 1 in Cocoa but I will probably have to get a second!
I find this cab extremely nice for upright too. They got the sizing perfect too.
As if the release itself wasn’t enough excitement, Aguilar picked up on my Instagram post about it yesterday!

Long version:
Color me curious on this li'l guy. I've been following this release and am trying to figure out if I'm crazy for wanting a pair. I already have an ELF 110 cab (16lbs, 300 watts, similar frequency range, $350 new) and I really dig it. Ridiculously powerful for such a dainty li'l thing, with plenty of low-end guts to o a 5'er proud.
I have 500 and 800 watt amps, and most of my playing is with a classic rock band that has a heavy handed drummer. I would never take the ELF 110 as my only cab to a rock gig. I view it as a practice/small jam sesh/small church w/no drummer type of solution. For full-volume gigs I usually bring a pair of 300w GK Neoii 112 cabs and a TH500. If I had a SECOND ELF 110, I would consider that for gigging.
Have you had any experience with the ELF 110 to compare to this SL110? I love Aguilar as much as the next guy, but I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around 200% more $ for 50% of the power. I still want to further reduce my stack's footprint and lighten the schlep, and have actually been contemplating a pair of the ELF 2x8 cabs, but then this li'l beauty drops and now I'm question the meaning of my life. The ELF 2x8s are 400w cabs for $580 each, vs 175 watts and $700 ea for the SL110s. I know wattage isn't everything... but like... do you think a pair of the SL110s would legitimately be able to hit as hard as would be necessary for a rock band carrying all the bass in a small-medium club?
I wish these drivers were rated a little higher to give me some comfort/fudge factor.
The SL210 (I know it uses different drivers) is rated for 400w (ie: 200 per driver.) I guess they're expecting ONLY TH350 owners to use these little guys? In these days of modern speaker design, is it not possible for Aguilar to have sourced or co-designed/spec'd a more robust option? Especially since Peavey/Trace Elliot and Eminence figured out how to offer double the power for half the price. Granted, those are built overseas with a cheaper cabinet design, yes, I get it.... but still.I'm still waiting for Mesa to do this. I have the Subway 210 (600w cab that absolutely slays) and would LOVE this as a narrower, taller, 300w x2 modular stack. Really, two Trace Elliot 110s get close.

I'll probably stick with my Acme Low-B1 which is military rugged - don't need no stinkin' slip cover. It is heavier which is bad, but shallower which is actually kind of a big deal for me. (A lot of the stages I play are shallow - particularly on gigs where a 1x10 would get used.)

Nah, it handles the AG700 very well!
I'm sold on these cabs, both in sound from that IG clip and in looks!

I haven’t been able to compare the SL110 to anything but now after 5 gigs I think it would handle a ton of gain without blowing up. The ceramic driver is a beast!
For legit rock volumes I would tend toward the 2 SL112s or a 410. But I must say the SL110 does have a lot more low end than I was expecting and from what I have heard so far I think two of them would probably be enough for a pretty loud band that was not like playing heavy-metal loud but you know classic rock, funk, jazz, small, medium size, clothes, etc. it does seem very substantial to my ears.
My usual bass rig is 1 or 2 SL112s with the th500 and occasional 2 of those with the th350. I also have the SL 410X, that cabinet is freaking amazing for anything.
A friend of mine is also running the 500 with the 10 and 12 on the bottom and loving it!
In other news, I just was on the Tuki Covers site and they are now making a cover for the SL 110! They are the original supplier for all of Aguilar‘s covers. Very nice quality stuff.

Those Tuki covers are awesome, I've been gigging an Aguilar GS112 for something like 20 years and the cover has held up incredibly well.
