,Is Ampeg thinking of dropping Pf50t?? The only reason I don't have one yet is I play in a band who's stage volume is "silly" loud, and i can't afford a home /recording amp (of that price , Pf50t $1,800 AUD), and IV never seen a s/h one ... even new stock is scarce.here. Please, No !-

Free advice since you're putting this out there: Maybe lead off with something like, "Ampeg has made no mention of discontinuing the PF-20T and PF-50T" if you're that concerned; You'd have something written in stone to counterbalance rumors, and members wouldn't be running down post numbers to figure out what you're implying. (TB has a multiple-quote feature)

For who first time own Ampeg stuff , current V3 and decided on V7 , get the PF cab before the whole PF line discontinued...

I did that over the past year regarding a few Canon EF lenses.

Not to add yet another bit of speculation, but didn’t they already fix this years ago? I just bought a PF-50T (serial code dates it to 2023) and there is very, very little hum. Some still there yes, but it’s comparable to all other tube amps I’ve heard and played. I should note that, having also tried a V-4B in the last few days, the hum on that is indeed significantly lower (bigger chassis, can space components and traces out much better). But at playing volume, the hum on the PF-50t is far below noticeable.

Me, I'd try to avoid asking everyone who reads across a public post of mine that implies a challenge to all in light of no immediate statement to the contrary, to take the time to do the footwork I could have easily helped them circumvent by saying exactly what I meant.

Issue was with the filtering in bias supply I believe.

Again, was just trying to chime in on the post dissuading people from the purchasing the amp based on an issue that has (to my knowledge and experience) already been fixed. The PF-50t is great. This isn't the thread to talk about that though.

I'm curious for thoughts on the new Venture 410. I'm currently deciding between that or a Barefaced Four10 - same price point, similar low weight, similar SPL, etc. I tried the Ampeg PF-115he with the PF-50t and it sounded great; but the PF cab I received had some resonances/buzzing on certain notes when played at any real volumes, and I opted to return it. Looking now towards non-fliptop designs, mainly efficient 410s like the above. Would love to hear more about the 410 and how much it actually colors the sound; hi-fi is exactly the opposite of what I'm looking for...

I purchased a 2023 Ampeg/Yamaha model, which had a significant hum. None of the supposed modifications to reduce the hum, such as resistors or capacitors, were ever incorporated into the board.
