Dan1099 said:+1. After playing through a few IPs at Tom's place earlier this year, I'm just not quite happy with how anything else sounds any more.
I really would want to hear one myself and in person before I commit on 'new technology'
I've always been more of a "head & cab" guy than a "pre/power/cab" guy...but that doesn't mean I'd overlook the IP series...it would mean I'd have to rethink my whole setup! We don't really have a dealer in the area, so I can't really test the IPs before buying either.
You know, I know how everyone wants uncolored and flat, but I end up EQing the HELL out of my sound anyway. Part of this comes from the fact that I really like a bass that feels and sounds lively, but then I boost the lows and progressivley roll off the mids and highs (the EQ on my amp got a few strange looks at the Woodstock TB GTG), to get the tone I need for my gigs. I also ride the line between uncompressed tone and needing enough definition for quicker modern/dancehall type playing.
