New Bergantino cabs!!!!!!!!!

The more power you put through the 112's the more bass you'll get. With a CA6 or 9 you'll get a great deal of low end.

I know that's what everyone (including Jim B.) says BUT I'm always blown away at how good my Eden WT-400 sounds with the HT-112s. They can take a lot more than it dishes out, but they sound big and beautiful with "just " 400 watts. Before I bought these cabs I thought they'd sound bad with lower-powered heads but I haven't found that to be the case at all.

That said, they do sound bigger with the iAmp800's "Deep" switch and 800 watts. Still, I feel they're voiced more for articulate mids and detailed highs than pant-flapping low end, which works very well in real world gig situations I've encountered.

Imagining how they'd sound with a big ol' lead-sled CA-9 is almost frightening...

I'm a bit behind the herd here, but I wanted to put in my props for the HT210/115 combo...it's definitely the best cab setup I've ever owned.

But damn if that HT210S/112S stack isn't a killer as well...!! Especially with them now disappearing from production, I'm torn whether I should try to trade these in toward the smaller ones...I can't decide.

GAS kills...

Cool. I should have my new HT115 tomorrow. Really looking forward to it. I will say that I've been reading up on the IP series, though. ;)

Cheezewiz was hanging out at my house last night, and we were playing through the IP310 (of course!) with a bunch of different preamps. It was really amazing to hear how you can put together a very different sounding rig based around this cab. With a Phil Jones P-1, it's like the "big room" studio monitors I've heard in higher end recording studios. With a Trace Elliot V-Type, it IS rock-n-roll. And with a Kern IP-777 (w/ a great set of tubes), you can dial in a very convincing top notch clean tube tone. I mean, killer.

Tom.

P.S.
Did I mention how good that Kern sounds through an IP310? ;)

Just a quick update on my new HT115 situation. I picked it up from TB'er Aram yesterday (super nice guy and great to deal with...go check out his profile...he's selling off almost everything!) in loverly Poughkeepsie NY. He actually contacted me about the cab after reading my interest in this thread!

Anyway, gigged with it tonight, and here's what I had to say in a different thread

-------Snip------

I am still using my 1212R and I've just added a Bergantino HT115 to hold it up. This fall I decided that I really needed more low beneath the 1212...I've been playing in a second reggae band, and one that has at least 9 people on stage most nights. We've been playing mostly small shows w/o bass in the front end. While the 1212 is very present on stage and loud across the room, it doesn't have the boom to anchor the band in a room. I will still use the 1212 as a stand alone when I don't have the opportunity to carry a lot of gear, and it CAN do the job as needed.

I've just gotten home from tonight's gig, where I used both, and I think it was a success. Everyone on stage could hear it, and it filled out my low end in the room. I don't think it really competes volume-wise (what does?), but its in the ballpark. There wasn't a tonal disconnect between the two cabs. My first thought is that it's quite a full range 15, and I ended up pulling out some of the highs that I was hearing from it. I also could reduce the bass boost I normally use with the Schroeder and still get big low end. The lows aren't boomy and washy though...they're deep and round and present. With my Mesa running at 4/3 (pre/power) and the bass set at 7 and pulled I could turn off the graphic EQ...and there was no breakup from the cab in the least. I could keep my volume lower than where I normally have it. Finally I can have a big low end and keep it clear and clean. The Schroeder has a sledge-hammer like kick, and the Berg seems to soften the blow.

The other consideration for me was the size. The cab is an inch taller than the Schroeder (roughly) and the same width. It's got an additional 2 inches to the depth. It's LIGHTER than the 1212. I can still fit both cabs comfortably in the back seat of my sedan. The extra depth means it can be a knuckle buster with doorways, and JUST fits in my car door. By definition, it's still a 'mini' rig!

Tomorrow night I'm going to practice with it as a stand alone, I think I'll have a better idea of its personality after that!

Awesome, Bill -- so glad the Bergie's working out so far. 'twas great meeting and conversing with you this weekend. Definitely keep us posted as you put some more milage on the cab.

Cheers,
Aram

i bet your dingwall's B string sounds HUGE through that bergie cab burningskies, congrats!

Yup...but it's not big and washy...its got loads of definition. I got a few comments from people in the crowd yesterday that it filled the room but was 'precise'.

Thanks everyone...for helping me decide on this cab...
