New Bergantino Neo Line; Pt. 2

Just bit the bullet and got two CN112s to replace my current Schroeder 212. I've only played them in the store so far, but they sound amazing and the build quality seems to be top notch. Plus, I was looking for the lightest thing I could find without sacrificing quality, and a scalable setup for different size rooms. I'm guessing everyone on this thread would say I made the right choice...

I always appreciated what Jorg did with most of his cabs. However, if you dug the Schro 212, IMO you will LOVE the CN stack. Same tone universe, but 'more' of everything.... low end, volume, clarity in the mids, and that much more integrated tweeter/top end. Enjoy! Spring for the covers if you can afford it to keep 'em nice.

Exactly the choice I made after a pretty extensive cab shootout. :)

Great gig to have, and I love your music selection. As for covers for the CN 112's, I got mine from LeCover saved a few bucks over buying them from Jim Bergantino.

The CN2x12 and igig bag sure do make trips easy. Loving my current set up(including the bass and amp which are tucked comfortably in the bag)!

Now off to an afternoon session and then a late night rehearsal!

I have not compared directly, but I've played both. A Bergantino CN112 will completely outperform the GB 12T cab in every way. Tone, low B string performance, punch. ...In my opinion.

The original Shuttle 12T was not in the same league as the Berg CN at all. The newer, revised version that was released with the '.2' amp upgrades is very nice and has some of the same general tonality of the Berg CN line IMO. If have not directly A/B'd them (I do have a clip of the 2 x 12T stack and also clips of the Berg CN212 on my Youtube page). Genz switched to Faital 12's in the new Shuttle 12T, and I was impressed with that cab. That being said, my gut tells me that the custom version of the drivers Jim uses are more robust (I think Jim also uses a version of a Faital driver in the CN, but have no inside info on that...just what others have posted and surmised), but I have not verified that. Also, the smoothness of the crossover in the Berg is magnificent and a bit more natural than the top end of the new Shuttle cabs.

I was not aware the 12T was upgrade. I played a very early version ...which was just 'ok'. The updates that Ken noted make a huge difference. So take my comment with a grain of salt.

Yeah, I agree totally with you on the originals. Not horrible or anything, but definitely not top notch IMO. The newer ones are pretty cool. You don't hear much about them. I don't know if the original small, thin sounding ones kind of scared people off, or if Genz is just kind of 'off the TB radar' at this point with the company changes, etc.

not to de-rail y'alls CN thread but yeah, the first one Kjung.

I was looking for a new cab(s) this past spring. Something light-ish, 2x112's or 212. I knew with my past loud bands, I'd need some cabs that can handle some volume. I just did not feel the Shuttle or the Focus cabs would do it for me.

Never even went to try them out just from what I'd read here inthe past of those cabs. And the lower price points made me think they were not up to par as well.

Now, I've read here how some are making good use of the Shttle/Focus cabs. Still not sure they'd serve my purpose. I was really leaning to the CN212 or those sorta odd, to me, side and down firing driver cabs; dang forgot their names. :rollno: Anyway, I ended up with the new NX2-212T with Streamliner 900 very nice combo.

Sorta wonder what the different specs are for the Faital 12's in the CN vs NX2?

The guys at Premier gave me a good deal on trading in my Avatars, so I bought the covers from them since they had them in stock. I also wanted them on Day 1, just in case. :) Ironically, I have to take them OFF at home, because I'm afraid my stupid cats would like the covers as a scratching post. :rollno: lol

Been doing some A/Bing this weekend with my TH500, CN212, Aggie SL112x2 and DB410...

The SL112 sound a little more vintage, less punch and clarity than the CN212 to my ears with identical settings on the amp (I realise there are flaws to this method). The DB410 is slightly closer to output than the SL112s are, but there is clearly more output and clarity to the CN212 than the DB410 - which surprised me actually.

All in all, I can't see myself needing any other cabs than the CN212.

Awesome report! For my medium band gigs to big gigs, the Bergantino CN 212 is officially my favorite single bass cab .....ever! I gigged last night and could not be more thrilled with the performance, punch, output and tone. ..and it replaced my former, beloved Bergantino AE410 which I always loved. The CN212 somehow just seems 'complete'. Not that i felt anything was missing from my former AE410. I simply LOVE what I am hearing from the CN212~!

Yes, the CN212 officially lives up to all the hype, ....and exceeds my wishes and expectations! :D :p :hyper: :p
