Very classy , imo. Something about the cream, the tortoise pickguard and the rosewood, that just looks great.

Thanks!

That's pretty sweet. Hopefully an ash body will be a little lighter, though.

First, the SB series! Then the Bromberg basses! And let's not forget the B and BX series amps. Carvin has been doing some seriously awesome stuff on the bass front in the past couple of years.

I know that I'm absolutely happy with the four Carvins I own (two LB75s, an Icon 5, and an XB75). I've tried playing other basses, but I keep coming back to these four.

Although I will admit, I'm not totally in love with the SB headstock on the P style bass. I wonder what the LB/BB/XB or the Icon headstock would look like on it.

JB64 thanks for posting those clips, that was very cool of you. I also ordered an alder body with maple neck. It's disappointing to hear that it weighs 10 pounds but mine will be passive with only the P pickup.

I placed my order over a month ago with the rush build option. Haven't heard anything from Carvin so I'm going to have to call them tomorrow and find out what's going on with my bass.

A lot like this I'd imagine:

There's not a lot of images of the PB series and a pretty limited amount for Icon headstocks on Carvin's site, but here's the best quick mock-up I could come up with.

The nut width between the PB5 and the IC5 don't match exactly,so the strings don't really match up perfectly, but you get the idea.

i don't really care much about headstock shape. I'm cheap, so i usually just stick with what comes standard on whatever carvin I get. At least they give you a choice. with most makers, you get what they make... that's it.

For instance, I don't like the Tyler guitars headstock. I don't really care that it's got the name 100 times on the headstock, but the shape, meh. However if I really wanted one, I'd suck it up. it's just freakin headstock.

LOL. Yeah, headstocks aren't a huge deal to me, either. With a Carvin, I will spend $20 to get something I like better than the stock headstock, though.
