Wow

Hopefully some wider spacing both at the nut and heel.... while it's understandable that a particular design can't be all things to all people, one can tighten the spacing with a narrower nut and bridge, but can't widen an already narrow spacing, so a bit more room can allow for some additional customization.

Will have a surprising re-think of this design for you all at 2015 NAMM. Stay tuned! ;)

A fundamental change of the tone, in a good and useful way. That's all I can say about it now. More to come soon. I will share when I can. Let's just leave it at that for now, but I'm stoked. It's like nothing else in their catalog. :)

I just placed my order for a Vanquish 5 fretless:

1 piece ash body
tranparent white finish (matching ash headstock)
5 piece walnut/maple neck
ebony board, no lines
radiused single coils
vvtb/t knob layout
black hardware
straplocks
abalone logo

It's been a while since I had a fretless - very much looking forward to this one though!

If the Vanquish were a neck-through, I'd prefer it for my forthcoming order over the Icon. I love the layered wood look on the body.
while I totally understand what you mean here, i would invite you to refocus on the model you will be buying and consider the possibilities that are there! For the Icon has some very interesting possibilities to result in a multi-toned look. there's even a contrast line between the top and the back. And don't forget the option for a visible neckthrough. There are three examples on this page alone:

For my own build, I didn't want a top. But I tried to think about how to showcase the neckthrough aspect in a way that was a little more than just some high contrast lines through the body. The response for how it came out has been very positive!
