Like that Fender's trying something new. Sad that this is likely gonne be over 3k. Missing some design attention for sure though

A bunch of New Orleans funk rolled into one jam.

As for the bass I totally dig it and would love to own one. Likely out of my price range though.

Fender owns GUild, i'm sure it's just a Guild Bi-Sonic like they use on the Starfires.

Personally i love the bass and idea. Lakland sold a lot of Darkstar Glaubs, this is their take on it, i did the new body style very funky and the tele neck. cool idea.

It looks cool, but folks never seem to buy new Fender designs.
My favorite Fender is still my Starcaster. Great sound, great pickups, heavy as a bulldozer.

I understand the concept of relicing to imitate a 60's Fender - make it look like one of the "good old ones". But here, we're relic'ing a bass to make it look like....basses that weren't made before 2019. And the mixture of the relic'ed body and that uber modern bridge....

Yes, we're hard on Fender when they try something new (or is it old?)

And yes, it'll be a hard reach for a lot of people, and will likely neck dive. Basses need an upper horn - or whale hump, or something to get the strap attachment when it needs to be to balance.

i guess retro is still in....we had several decades that were spent evolving the bass guitar.....it seems the past ten years were spent de-evolving it...Its almost as if Fender intentionally made a late-60s Matsumoku bass that hints at wanting to be a Thunderbird and stuck a Univox pickup on it

I like it. I could see that shape flying with a short scale. Be pretty awesome, actually.

I can't believe that they made this a full scale bass, I feel like it would have been amazing as a shorty. If they did that and threw 2 more pickups and a piezo pickup in the bridge and kept the price around $1,100 I think it would have a fighting chance.
