New Fender Rumble Combo amps - NAMM 2014

Has any manufacturer seen the wisdom of putting the controls on combos in the front, perhaps on panel slanted toward the player? My old Genz Benz 400 210 combo was built like a monitor --slanted, with controls on the front. No need to tilt back, and it did the job well.

Wow! I think the 350 I got about 3 years ago is a great little amp, but these new ones are much prettier!

I'm a little disappointed. I liked the more "modern" style that the previous generation of Rumbles had. Never been a fan of the old school Fender look.

I think old school is in style now. Probably a good move for them.

I think the "retro" version is better looking. I'm sure not as durable as the metal screen on the model I have, though.

I used to rock a couple Bassman 10 combos so I'm digging how these look.

I have a Rumble 75 from two or three years ago with that design. I love the way it's set up, it actually projects more when it's pointed in the air instead of at my ankles.

Ampeg, Hartke, Fender, and many others make/made tilt back combos.

I'll be trying these out at NAMM but it'll be hard to get an accurate sound representation with all the chaos and noise.

I personally hope they're closer to their tube Bassman's. Ampegs SS and Class D products at least try to cop the "Ampeg" sound. The current Rumbles are more like a Peavey, built tuff and sound fine but a bit generic. Orange is another example of keeping "Their" vibe going throughout their range.

I really like the look of those, and have heard good thing about the previous generation's Rumble heads. If anyone has any more info on the controls on the heads I'd really appreciate it.
