New Fender Rumble Combo amps - NAMM 2014

Specs are somewhat confusing as listed at ZZounds--the 500 specs say it's an internal 4 ohm load but has an 8-ohm extension jack. The extension jack must be in series unless Fender has sourced a Class D module that can handle 2.67 ohms. So it could be a full 500 watts into the internal speakers, and quite a bit less into a 12 ohm load if you add an 8 ohm cab, but this is guesswork until Fender posts actual specs.
Let's see... Fender puts the Genz Benz and SWR brands to bed and pumps up the "Rumble" ? Any "Oldsmobile" fans out there ? ;-)

The last Rumble series reportedly had very honest power ratings, the 350 head had the same power stage as the GB Shuttle 6.1 and Streamliner 600!
my initial thought was that it is the same power source as the 350 but uses the more liberal/typical power rating of competitors....here is hoping it really is a more powerful unit..
fwiw I think the current Rumbles are decent, well-built, solid bang for the buck amps - great for rehearsal rooms and good enough for bar/club gigs (imho, ime, ymmv)

I noticed that on the pics on Zzounds as well. I'm not sure why this is such a turnoff to me since I like the overall look of the amp. I'm getting old and fussy.
I guess the amp is as minimal as possible, the MarkBass amps have been one of the most successful out there of this kind, and they have a very similar look, I personally think the aesthetic of the new Rumble amps is actually nicer
Just wish they'd make a 1x12" + tweeter cab to match the rest of the range...

That would be super easy to do, as it appears they have discontinued the Rumble 112 (w/tweet) Neo cabs. I have a pair and love them with my Rumble 350 head. GREAT tone and very solid performers on stage.
i too am thinking it will take a extension cab, ........500w into two 10s' is a big ask otherwise
Yep! Just pop the Rumble 500 Combo on top of the new Rumble 410 cab and have a full 500 watts into 610's!
or pop it on top of the new Rumble 115 cab. Your Choice.

None of the pictures have these cabs with casters. The 500 will need them definitely. Right now I play two 350s. 410s - 700 watts with casters and a metal grill. These new cabs interest me but the gig worthy toughness and ease are questionable to me so far.
I also don't like the handles at all. Would rather have counter sunk sporting loaded metal handles.
