Hopefully, it's only "recommended tuning". I could see something like that tuned EADGCEA and used for some low riffage and sweeps...just use 7-string guitar techniques and what you have is a 5th-lower metal/jazz/prog etc instrument.

I don't understand the tuning either - should be BEADGCF IMO. I know they're trying to maintain the SR headstock design, but something really looks wrong with the way [angle] those outer strings are pointed towards the tuners relative to the departure from the nut

It's a Bass.... Anything with SR = Ibanez bass. But still a hybrid.

Wait till' you see those SR Bangos they got coming in NAMM 2010!



Besides..... if Victor Wooten starts playing 11mm spacing basses, everyone here would put there broadnecks, mtds, bongos up for sale.

OK I was being silly earlier, but now, for reals- you are silly. I gots to have widw spacing as I'm quite ham-fisted. What VW or anyone else can do won't change that.
On topic, w/more-sensible-to-either-guitarists-or-bassists tuning and about a 75% price reduction I might take it off my **** list.

Which is normal for 7string right?
Also this one " SR7VIISC " is only a 30" scale.

pretty expensive for an ibanez, tbh.

the tuning's pretty crazy. either b-e-a-d-g-c-f or b-e-a-d-g-b-e. never saw a 7 tuned with a c-e in -my- 16 years of playing only 7+ string basses.
