I have had my rig (MB 115) for 17 days thus far and need to consult with mt fellow TBers.
Does pressing the horn button make a hissing noise?
It sure does on my amp.
If the boost is up around 3 o'clock and the master is also at 3, does the amp make a humming sound? Like a single coil pickup type hum?
I am still inside my return period and am checking as to what you think.

i think you need to spend some more time with your rig so you can learn it's proper name for starters. lol
What you have is the MB115. the 115MBE (not MBE 115) is the 15" extension cab that has not yet been released.
to answer your question: Yes, the horn has a terrible hiss to it. you may find that it is best to keep the horn shut off. i would say 90% of people on TB with this combo don't bother to use the horn. I have the MB210 and keep the contour and horn buttons "off" (or unpressed)

Two gigs so far with my MB115. Used a Danelectro Longhorn reissue (stock) and an old Jazz Bass with Fralins. I play classic country and roots rock, so I favor a standup-bass like tone where I can control the sustain and hear all the notes.
The overall tone of the amp is going to take some getting used to as its a much more digital amp than anything I've ever owned. I like the punch I'm getting at low volumes, though, and I think more time working with the eq will get me more of what I want.
I wish it had a tuner output, but there's ways around that.
All in all, Bob and G-K have done an admirable job delivering a lot of amp in a lightweight package. As a lazy, cheap bass player, this amp was made for the likes of me!

I received my replacement MB115 from music123.com the other day (my first one had a big dent in the amp). Unfortunately this one also has an issue. I put all the knobs at 12 o'clock and started testing it out. It has a very bad rattle or vibration that seems to be coming from the speaker, only on certain notes. At first I thought it was just the grill vibrating, but quickly eliminated that as a possibility. I tried a different bass, and even switched between hard floor and carpet, but no difference. I called GK and talked to Jason, who was very helpful. There's an authorized service center in my town, so he said that would be the best way to handle it. He said if I call them and they say it's going to be a long turnaround time to call him back, and we'll work out another solution. So while I'm obviously not happy about the problem, I'm so far very pleased with the genuine concern of Jason at GK.
Try removing the grill alltogether and then tightening evey screw you can find.
Also, make sure the rattle is not coming from doors in the room that do not close tightly. The amp will cause them to vibrate and, due to room acoustics, the rattle sounds like its coming from the amp's speaker rather than the door.
I have an MB 212 and had a similar problem. It would sound like something was rattling/shaking when it played. when i cranked volume, it would crackle and pop, so I quickly shut it off and brought it to an authorized service center in my area. It turned out that 6 screws that hold on the main board were missing and that was the cause. It could have seriously fried it if contacted something it shouldn't have.
It was all fixed under warranty and works great now.
Your issue doesn't sound exactly the same, but it does sound similar to mine. Do take it to get checked out.

Its been my experience that when dealing with 8", 10" and 12" speakers, matching cabs with the same speaker configuration will produce a benefiaical synergy that will not obtain with cabs that don't match.
I.E., match a 2x10 with a 2x10 - not a 1x12.
Match a 2x12 with a 2 x12.
15" and 18' speakers seem to do thier own thing.
Also, sound quality may vary if you match same size speakers but in different cabs (a G-K Neo 210 with the yet to arrive MBE210) or different brands (a Hartke 2x10 with a G-K 2 x 10).
Of course, all of this is subjective - I may prefer matchng a 2x10 cab with a 2x10 cab, but you may prefer a 2x12 with a 2 x 10. So the old rule applies: if at all possible, try before you buy.

I did take the grill off and tighten all the other screws, and tried it in different rooms, before I even called GK. I ended up taking it to the service center late Friday, and at first it sounded fine. I couldn't believe it. But then it did start doing it, although nowhere near as loud as it did at my house. The tech said he had heard something similar on a different GK model, and thought it was the soundboard vibrating. It had been in my hot car all day, so he thought it probably had expanded slightly, and that's why it wasn't as bad. He pretty much said there wasn't much he could do, and suggested I call GK back to see what my options were. I asked if we could call from there, which we did. He first called his service contact but got no answer, so we called and talked to Jason, who I had talked to when I originally called. Jason said I could send it back to music123.com and get a different one, or have the service center send it back and they'd send them a new one, which I could then pick up. Since the service center is about 45 minutes from my home I asked Jason if he could send it directly to me, which he agreed to. So again, while I'm certainly not happy with the problems I've had with my first 2, I'm certainly pleased with GK's support. Hopefully the old saying holds true and "third time's a charm!".
My MB115 has a new nickname. At the 4th of July gig the drummer picked it up and said, "Wow - it feels like a toaster."

I've had a deposit down on my MB115 since April 9th, and I still have no clue when I'll ever see it! ARRRRRRGGGG!!!!!
