New GK 800 Legacy!

It was mentioned earlier that GK is waiting on the government's approval then it meets the FCC digital device standards I do find it a bit suspect that the FCC seems to knock GK around a little they levied a hefty fine on them once that I know of perhaps somebody at another company has somebody at the FCC in their pocket? Crying pouting and stomping our feet is not going to get us an amp any faster.

Just curious..why would they announce the amp and have it for pre-order online before getting all the govt. approvals that they need?

Rolling out a new product is a series of steps and so when the end is in sight they estimate the amount of time needed and then plan their promotional material around that schedule. Sounds like maybe their (presumably reasonable) estimate of when things would clear FCC was around mid May and for whatever reason that hasn't happened. Kind of like if you drop off your car for an oil change and tire rotation and they tell you it'll be about 2 hours. You don't go back home and wait for them to call; you just show back up after 2 hours with the hope that they actually got it done in time. If they didn't then it sucks and you wait but not your fault.

Well, either GK erred in the design, manufacturing or FCC submission, the FCC has made a mistake in its review of the GK product, or the FCC has a backlog of submissions to review. Any are possible — stuff happens.

Oh, or the dark side of the bass amplification world has turned its ugly head, with gigantic bribes stuffed into the pockets of feckless FCC employees — and sex, indescribable sexual favors bestowed upon lonely civil servants — to delay or deny the market-disruptor GK Legacy’s release so a shifty competitor can gain an unimaginably huge marketshare stronghold in the hokey-stick growing musical instrument industry. That’s it. Yeah, b-r-i-b-e-r-y and s-e-x. But who? Who would — who could do such a thing? It must be... T h e B - W o r d ! ;)

I know this in the past they got tired of waiting on the government and released some amps then got a hefty fine from the government. This is truth not fiction or comedy.

Also of note of importance to at least me, the design philosophy of these new amps are meant to be a lasting design (hence the name), these don't fit into the flash in the pan designs that everyone else seems to be producing. I suggest those that are making proclamations of travesty will be long since quiet a couple years down the road and many will own one of these.

The Mini Mega actually took over 22 months from product announcement to first general public availability.

I have the MB-500 and the MB-800 fusion. I intend to wait till next year to get one of GK’s new amps anyways.

I came to the party back in 77 and started with the 400b and a pair of 4412h cabs. And I never left. Even when I was giving the Mesa subway a chance I still kept my GK cabs.
