New GK Neo Cabs

So....
Why does the NEO 2x12 cab weigh 50 lbs
and
The new MB212 (2x12) combo weigh only 39 lbs?
The combo has a 500 watt head in it and each speaker is rated for 300 watts each (600 watts total) just like the cab. One has to assume that the cab material is different, but that's still a HUGE difference in weight. Things that make you go hmmmmmmm.

I gigged my new GK Neo212-2 (4 ohm) for the first time this weekend, powered by my Fusion 550. This is my first experience owning GK equipment, and I have to say I was quite impressed! I play in a loud classic rock/blues band without PA support. Great, even tone and plenty of bottom! I had the gain on 10 o'clock and the master was barely on! Wow!
PS: During the first tune, my guitarist came over to my side of the stage and said "man, that rig sounds incredible!"

Glad to hear that GK rig is working out for you! I have to admit to being a little late to this particular party, myself.

I am equally impressed with the RB700II. It is a lot of head for the money, IME/IMHO.

I just got a NEO 1x12 yesterday and my initial impressions are so so.
i'm using it with a Mesa Boogie 400+ at low levels.
As soon as i plugged it every note i play below G4 has a light fuzzy rattly sound.
like a ffffffffffft sound. The tone behind the fuzz sounds great but i can't live with it.
did i get a lemon?

Possibly. I know with my Markbass 112 combo I thought at times I was hearing something like that too, but it has never been a problem on a gig. In fact, it sounds clear and focused at the gig. I wonder though if it is something unique with single NEO's drivers. My GK212's sound quite clear, unless I overdrive the amp.
After about an hour of trouble shooting I narrowed it down to a loose logo plate.
I'll be taking it off. I'm fine with logo plates until they rattle.

My 112s made a bad buzzy sound on lower notes. Then I peeled off the clear plastic covering the GK logo. It was vibrating and producing a buzzing sound. A real "doh!" moment for me.

Alright... tryin' out the 212s for the first time tonight here in Sacramento. I was diggin' the RBHs for the past week, so here's hopin'!

I'm dying of indecision between the 700RBII and the LittlemarkIII.
If I get the 700RBII, I'd be inclined to get the GKNEO212. If I go with Markbass, I'm inclined toward the Mesa Boogie PowerHouse 2x12. I just played that pairing for an hoour the other night...it's pretty awesome. The damned GC near me has no GK Neo 212.
The Mesa is really nice though heavy 78 lbs as a Neo!
Any way you can help "put me out of my misery"?
GC and samash had no neo 212 for me either.
I bought a 700RB-II and blind-ordered the Neo 212. It's simply amazing. I would definitely go GK NEO! Now, if you were going to get a Markbass 410, then I'd have to say go test but.

And if you have any questions or anything people say GK CS is useless but, bob gallien replies here on TB in a day or less.
I sold my Powerhouse 1x12 when I got my GK Neo212-II. it's really really nice.
