New! Markbass Little Mark 58R Head

Just got the new Markbass little Mark58R Head from over seas, not sure if or when it will be here in the US. Upon receiving it I noticed it was setup for 230v, so I removed cover and moved jumper to cn1 and jumped cn9 on board so it would be 120v. Hooked it up, played with knobs a bit and was blown away by the sound. The feature set is probably one of the best I have seen by Markbass, and this one is actually made in Italy too!! The first show I played with it was great, there we're musicians from other bands there that said my amp sounded awesome when we we're on a break. I have many different heads and this maybe my favorite, I guess time will tell. Markbass also has a new line of neo cabs that have mind blowing options, and are very light weight. I plan on adding one of the cabs soon. gallien krueger 400rb

The little mark iii head and the new little mark iv both use a 50Hz 4A 250v fuse and this little mark 58r has the same fuse so it should be fine. But I will contact them to make sure.

If you owned a LM3 can you share any sonic differences?

I played with the little mark iii for a year, it is a very good head. Sometimes it felt a bit muddy sounding to me, but everyones tastes are different. I messaged with the vle vpf knobs a lot to find a sound I liked. I tend to like punchy articulate with a little grind tone personally. This little mark 58r does have the markbass tone, but I think it has better tone range then the little mark iii. I was able to dial in a very clear clean tone if that's what you like. Me personally set the preset eq knob to the middle, the gain as high as I could without clipping, low at 1 o'clock, mid low at 12 o'clock, mid high at 2 o'clock, high at 3 o'clock, and old school knob at 11 o'clock. This did it for me, sounds great!! I think just the right amount of the old school knob is the magic on this head

From the Markbass User Manual:

POWER REQUIREMENT LITTLE MARK 58R, LITTLE MARK 58R COMBO, LITTLE MARK 58R 300
100V; 120V; 230V; 240V 50/60Hz
(Voltage is factory preset according to region of sale).
Markbass amps/combos are manufactured to be sold and used in the country of purchase,
and are factory preset to that country’s voltage.
Due to homologation issues, the voltage may not be changed.

Whether that's marketing or not I don't know, but you might have voided your warranty. I wouldn't do anything without running it past the Markbass US technical people.

Interesting. I'm torn between this and the LittleMark IV. They seem to have identical specs other than the front loaded jacks on the 58R. Is the casing all ABS? Does it seem lighter than the LittleMark3?

I noticed that too. The control functions are the same although the power rating is not. I recently bought the new CMD 121P IV combo which has the Little Mark IV head. I'm pleased with it, although I wish they had retained the VPF filter. I find the scoop setting too extreme in most cases.

How is the power rating different?
I see 300watts @8 ohms/ 500watts @4 ohms for both amps.

Fortunately there is no such thing as a 50Hz fuse... though your post almost caused me to spit my coffee this morning
