I noticed that too. The control functions are the same although the power rating is not. I recently bought the new CMD 121P IV combo which has the Little Mark IV head. I'm pleased with it, although I wish they had retained the VPF filter. I find the scoop setting too extreme in most cases.

I know, got my GR One 800 head from over seas too, because I couldn't find one in the us. This Markbass little mark 58r arrived pretty fast, only waited like 10 days at the most. I was pleasantly surprised when it was delivered on the day I had a show to play.

Forgot to mention that the input jack has a yellow light around it, and when the mute switch is on it flashes to help remind you that it is muted. Pretty nice feature.

Interesting. I'm torn between this and the LittleMark IV. They seem to have identical specs other than the front loaded jacks on the 58R. Is the casing all ABS? Does it seem lighter than the LittleMark3?

Was looking at the specs of the little mark iii and the IV the 58r is lighter than both of them, plus the IV is assembled in indonesian if that matters to you.

I see 300watts @8 ohms/ 500watts @4 ohms for both amps.

You're correct. I mistakenly thought the 58R had less power. I guess the only difference is the construction nd location of the connections and controls on the front panel.

The 600 watts is the maximum power consumption of the amp, not its output power. The maximum power consumption will be the same whatever the mains supply voltage is. I've seen loads of adverts incorrectly claiming LM2, LM3, etc, etc., with 600 watt outputs instead of the correct 500 watts. (I'd think these values are approximate).

And the 58r case is abs, toggle switches for the pre post, ground lift and mute functions.

The front loaded jacks seem more valuable for the Combo's; no turning upside and using a flashlight for hookup

Generally not, but there are exceptions related specifically to some topologies of SMPS efficiencies.

Where there are differences, they are generally about 5%.

Not at Musicians Friend/Guitar Center. I'm having some real questions about who in the USA will ever see these amps. I've been jerked around by MarkBass and MF concerning when, if at all, the new MB58R line will arrive. I'm tired of asking both parties. I've been a MarkBass user for 13+ years but I'm starting to develop a sour taste after the empty promises I've received.

But bad P.R. if you ask me.
