New Markbass Vintage Pre

I have a Markbass vintage pre that’s about nine months old.
It simply stopped working. One day it wouldn’t power up.
the tube as well as any of the other switch leds will not light
I’ve already sent it back to VST/Markbass service for hopefully a warranty repair but tubes aren’t covered under warranty.
The Markbass website is heavy on ad copy and self aggrandizing superlatives but short on actual useful information
While I’m waiting I wonder if it’s as simple as the tube going bad that would possibly cause that?

ive purchased an MXR M80 to fill the void for now

How does the aux in sound through headphones? I’ve had several gear with this feature- Plex, Fender Rumble, Ampeg Scrambler DI, and Mesa Subway WD. The Aux in sound quality of the Plex was the worst, and the Rumble is better but not great. The Ampeg and Mesa are crystal clear. But also the headphone bass tone clarity varies, too, and is by far the best through the Mesa. Has anyone compared this feature on the Vintage Pre to any of these?

I picked one up here in the classifieds a little while back and like it. I'm still working on dialing in preferred settings. It's definitely dark/thick sounding , if not a bit muddy. I like the middle "scoop" setting, I would like just a bit more clarity & crispness with it.
