New matte black 4003 coming?

The killers for the look (to me) are the binding (makes it look too country and less metal). The non-black bridge bits. The gloss pick guard shouldn't be glossy. Black fin inlays would be sweet.

The problem with matte finishes is that they gloss up, wherever there is a lot of wear. That finish may look good now (Depending on taste, anyway. I think it looks hideous.) but once someone actually starts gigging with it, it will have unsightly shiny spots, all over it.

That depends on the finish. If it's just satin paint, that would be true, if it's a UV activated satin clearcoat, it should hold up pretty well

The pickguard should be matte as well...maybe a matte grey for a contrast???.... I do like the outlined logo on the TRC.
I want to see it with the sticker and bridge p/u cover removed........

Agreed on the bridge bits. I'm not a fan of any binding at all, unless it's on a Les Paul. Pick guard is easy enough to changed.

I know that this isn't a 'bash Rickenbacker" thread - and I own two of them. The question that I have is when has Rickenbacket actually listened to what their customers wanted and did something?

About two years ago, I think, when they made about 50 of these for the Japanese-only market...?

I LOVE those inlays. Seriously cool. Honestly, I don't love the matte finish, but I'm sure it looks better in person. I don't love the lack of neck binding either... Black binding would have been cool.
