my name is george, i played bass for about ten years, took a 24 year break,now im back, around march or so my old drummer called and said the old band is getting back together again. im the youngest in the band (im 50) but we still rock. most of you dont know how great a forum like this is. i wish it was around back in the 60s.then again i would have bought microsoft at a dollar. the info ive picked up here has been great. i never heard of a sansamp di until i read about it here, now i wont play without it. i think next ill try ot the bass compactor. i would like to thank all the talkbassers for all your help.

Im sorta new....well iam new.
Ive posted some. I have a fender squire 5. Dean acoustic. Fender strat. I like playing pop punk guitar and to jump around...
Bass influences are P-nut, John Myung(sp?), the bassist of zebrahead, Kelly from goldfinger, ian from new found glory. My fav. joke is probably really corny so i wont tell any. Thanks embellisher and john(your basses scare me).

hey, i'd like to give a little information about me.

the only two bass makes i know are Aria and Fender (because they are the only two basses i own/have owned) i cannot tune without an electronic tuner device, i have no knowledge of bass terminology, i can barely read tabs, let alone sheet music, i can play loads of intros but no full songs, and i am the best player in my band. :eek:

so i'm hoping all you pros will have mercy on me, and i'll just be sitting back and reading posts to maybe help improve my playing, although i post a little on off topic and misc. boards. BTW, im getting lessons sometime soon, so im ever hopeful:)

Hello. Yah, Im realtively new here at TB. I guess I'll introduce myself.

Im 13 years old, I've been playing bass for a year now. I was interested by music because I've been surrounded by it most of my life. My dad, who used to play in a rock band, now makes guitars for a living and just finished his Gibson Jumbo. (hopefully, he will make me my own custom bass :))

I have a Yamaha RBX260 4-string (I know, bah :)). I have a '74 Fender Bassman (my dad's) with a Danelectro Cabinet. Only has a 15 inch speaker, the other 2 speakers are 12 inches but have crapped out. Daneletro is also my dad's.

So hello. :D

I've only been bassing 4 half a year now and this site is the COOLEST place 2 get info n' tabs n' stuff.
Or just 2 meet other Bassists. (I don't know ANY around where I live!!!)
Every1 here has at LEAST 1 thing in common: Bass

Oh,yeah...Hi, I'm Steve and I have been playing seriously for 5 years. This site kicks @$$! I am also a member of The Bottom Line, but it really is archaic compared to this. This site has been very valuable and a lot of fun. Uh, I have some gear (or porn...whatever) and it looks like THIS:
