Hey everyone, I'm sunshine. I love my 5er, and the only time I enjoy life is when I have my hands on it. My life is the song "Bassically yours." I'm not very experienced, but I hope to learn something here. I'm a big fan of Weather Report, Bella Fleck, Bass Extremes, Dream Theatre and Dave Mathews band.
Hello. I'm Ken Lloyd, as you can read, and I play fretless exclusively. Played for many years, took a few years off to get master's degree, played jazz guitar for a few years, but I always come back to the bass.
I just ordered an Acme Low B1 to pair up with my Clarus head, all to make my 5-string fretless really growl.
I'm currently playing in a 15-swing band, a "real book" trio, and also at church. I'm hoping to get back in the local jazz circuit so I get more pickup and sub calls.
Anybody in Portland, Maine area need a bassist? I can read!

I play mostly garage/rock/punk/metallobilly, but can bring the funk if needed, in a James Jamerson groove. Trying (unsuccessfully
) to form a garage/bubblegum ensemble in the Baltimore area. Damn day jobs to HELL!!!!! I can't figure out why when my ad says "looking to form/join garage/60's bubblegum band", the responses say "our bass player just quit, we play a lot of Creed and Staind, etc.". Clearly, guitar players can't read!!!! 
Current weapons are a Gibson Les Paul five string, Gibson Thunderbird, and a Fender Mike Dirnt signature Precision. I'm playing through a Peavey T-Max with 115 and 210 cabinets (also Peavey) and a Sansamp DI. I also have an SWR Workingman's 10 and a DR Rhythm drum machine. Oh yeah, and a Pandora's Box to keep the neighbors smilin'!

My name's Desi and I'm a soon to be Bass player.
I'm currently playing the guitar and planned on jumping on to Bass after I've gotten proficient enough on the guitar, but I guess that's not going to happen. I've always loved the sound of the Bass, but thought the guitar was more for me, until I caught L'arc en Ciel live last summer, that's when I knew that the bass was truly my instrument. I consider Tetsu, the bassist of L'arc en Ciel, my influence and inspiration for wanting to play this wonderful instrument. His basslines are absolutely marvelous, he's an incredibly gifted musician and brings so much emotion to L'arc's music with his superb Bass playing, it's insane.
Sadly, I'm broke and can't afford a Bass guitar at this moment, but once I get my financial situation straightened out I will be making one of the most important purchases ever.

I've been in a few jam bands just for fun but I play at my church about 3 times a week. I can't be extremely creative there but i love playing with my friends. I found out about this site through my rockin' bass teacher and i hope to keep posting on this site for a while

My name is John, I've been playing bass for about a year now.. first instrument I've played (at least for over a week or so ) Late getting into that since I'm 24 but what the hell. I live in Saint John, New Brunswick (Canada, east coast, near maine, look it up

My bass style is somewhere between Jim Lea (ex of Slade) and John Entwistle, though I can't claim to be anything like as fast as either of them! I am told I am loud, though!
I have Invalid Link Removed to my name that I've collected over the years. Mainly 4 strings; I consider anything above that to be extended range! I recently took up 5 string bass, but don't play it often enough, I guess. My best known bass is my [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] - which is my baby! I have recently acquired a Dean 8 string which is lovely to play.

If we are doing a rock gig, the 12er quite often gets used. It's a lot better with lighter gauge SIT strings!

I've just bought an 8 string Dean Rhapsody, which is lovely to play, so the 12 is in the vault at the mo, but I can see the day when I take both out!

i have been here for a little while now and i must say i really love this site, in the short time i have been here i have seen so much, learned some new tech, got great advice and manged to kill a few hrs a day (on company time). im very new to the bass, just started about a month ago but from what i have taken from here so far i think i am doing pretty well for myself. i live in ontario canada and its nice to see a fairly strong canadian presence here. anyway thats about it, here is a pic of my first and only bass to date.
