Hey,

This is my first post on Talkbass and I thought this would be a good place to start. I've been playing bass for around five years and have recently started taking lessons with a local teacher (with the view to becoming a qualified teacher myself in the future.) My favourite bass players for the moment are Stuart Zender/Nick Fyffe, and Marcus Miller (this is prone to change at any given time!) Hope to learn a lot from the forums but also help out wherever I can too!

Cheers!

My name is Jared, I've been playing bass for like, 14 years now. I somewhat recently moved to LA where I've been working on the whole 'starving musician' thing for a while. Lets see...did a stint on a cruise ship a while back, worked in Asia and have been in too many bands to count. Berklee grad (class of '99). I wanted to sign up for this site because a few weeks ago I wanted instruction on installing EMGs in my Mexican Jazz, and someone on this site posted a great bit that helped me.
This is my first ever post, but I plan to get more active on this site when I have the time. Thank you. That is all.
***end transmission***

...But I thought I'd introduce myself anyways since I haven't yet! I'm a teen bassist, although I can hold my own already. I play in a grunge/experimental band as well as my church's youth band. I roll with a 99 MIM Fender Jazz and a Spector Performer these days. Here's a recent pic of me with the Fender Jazz:

Im a proud owner of a Gibson Grabber, its my baby, and a early 60's Kustom head and cab its the kind with the puffy padding. The Kustom would proably be my step child if a had to choose. I've been playing for about 3 years but im pretty good, i've been in a band for the last year and thats about it.

Hi my name is Paul. Ive been playing bass and piano for 25 years.......and boy am I tired!

Recently bought one of those strange things with only 22 frets and six skinny strings.Dont know if I can train the left hand to crunch up like its got arthritis.
I might add I only got it at the urging of my daughter.

my motto: the worst day playing bass is still better than the best day at work!

Hello everyone,

I am the new person here on this website.

A little background on me, I'm an 11 year old bassist, aspired to take up the bass when my buddy invited me to his band.

I enjoy talking to bassists, as I am the only one out of 1000 kids at my school.

So yeah, I'll be around. Talk to you guys later!
