What's up guys? I have played guitar for 4 years now and a couple months ago decided to try out bass and loved it every since. I've played in a couple of bands with people in my school but never liked anything they were coming up with. Now I have sold 2 of my electrics and am going to buy a bass of my own quite soon. I have my eye on a sweet Peavey. Anyway, I know a lot of people who play bass and know a lot about the instruments themselves, I'm just not too skilled in playing yet. I hope I can help out in any way that I can.

Be Cool

Hi, I'm Brian, I wasn't even a member when this thread was started, but i just saw it posted on the main TB page. Im 18, a Junior in college at UCSB, im a physics major... not that good at music to major in it.
I play a 5 string carvin through an ampeg svp pro, into a mackie 1440 and an swr 810. The amp setup was just recently acquired with financial aid cash... i don't REALLY need those books...
Playing bass for 4 years now.. have a 4 string too... want to buy another 5.. oh im in a band... Bad Link Removed trying to prove that punk bass isn't as simple as people think it is. I've only been here for a week, but i always have to get my $.02 in so i've been posting a lot.
and gee.. you people here sure are nice.....
adios
Brian.

Hello everyone,

My name is josh, 21 years old, and i've owned a bass for about 5 years. Actual playing time probably only adds up to about 2 though. My favorite player is JohnPaulJones from Zep (saw his solo act live and was blown away) I live in Chicago right now, but come from out in the boonies, and go to school in Indiana. I am in a band right now called no redeeming qualities (thats how we were described by an old priest) and we play metal/punk/instrumental/acoustic/emo/noise core? I don't know what its called but we're trying to be diverse. I put up a shameless plug post somehere:) Unfortunately we'll probably break up once we all graduate from college next May:( I've learned a lot since I joined TB about 2 weeks ago.
Oh I almost forgot, I play a Washburn XB400, which isn't necessarily top of the line but I think it is a great bass!! through a fender bxr200, w/ one 15 in search of a 2x10.

Thanks guys!
josh

What up, im the 2 Bit bass Player. I also enjoy carrots. N e ways it's time for my life story. I was inspired to play bass after listening to John Paul Jones' solo album, ya di ya da. i went out and bought a Green Squire P bass special. After owning it for about 3 months, i took it in to get some adjustments on it. Three days later i went to pick her up. The guy working went to get the manager. he cam out, took me aside and siad she was beyond repar. (the both thingy that goes throught the neck was broken). I was devistated. But then he told me it was still under warenty and i could get it repaired, exchange it for a new one or upgrade for a discounted price. Thats when my eye caught a sholeline gold squire jazz bass. So it turned out good. I think i need some adjustments done to my jazz, maby this time i can upgrade to a Feneder p-bass standard?

hey wussup! im arpan desai (im indian...i know ull have trouble pronouncin it). im 18 and from jerzy.
well started to self teach myself the bass a year ago. i use an Ibanez BTB510 guitar with SWR bass 750watt head and a SWR goliath III 4x10 cab.
i need all this power to compete with the loud and abnoxious guitar player in my band. my band plays... i guess u would call it progressive rock...but we are tryin to create a style of our own. of course we dont have a name cuz of our bickering hence no website :( . hopefully well figure it out so u can hear us. Hey all,

I’m Mike, I’m 33 and located in Brooklyn, N,Y. I’ve been playing bass for 18 yrs. and guitar for 16 yrs. My bass rig and influences are listed in my profile. Anyway, my current band is Purgatory Lounge, we’re playing free style Rock-N-Roll if that’s what you want to call it. Honestly we’re all over the place. We go from hard rock to progressive rock to blues to jazz to gothic to reggae to southern rock, funk and so on. We’ve currently stopped playing out to work on our CD. If all goes as planned, the CD will be out by January. In addition to the years I’ve played, I’ve also done tech work for numerous bands like Love camp 7, Pre Canderia (when they were known as Raging Angel), Dead Zone, Sound Justice, Time Slide, S.M.D. Vehement, Chronic Kill and so on. As for THEE wish of a lifetime, I’d love a chance to jam with Bootsy Collins.

Hello, I´m a bass-woman from germany, so excuse my worse english.
I prefer to play Blues, but also Rock and Funk.
I play toghether with my brother, he plays g****r.
I use the Ibanez Roadstar II Series ´83, Hughes&Kettner Basskick 303, and for acoustic jam sessions the Ibanez AEB45LG.
Hope, that´s enough information for the moment

Feel the music and get the groove

hi, my name is chris, and i'm a bass player.

i live in ottawa, canada.. haven't been playing bass for long, but played guitar for years, then got into the underground dj thing, and have been doing that for a while. then out of the blue, my brother's band asked me to join on bass duties... so here i am, a guitar player/dj playing bass. and i love it. what a cool instrument.

my setup's pretty basic at the moment, but here goes:

:: ibanez btb405 (the transparent black one.. I can't dig on purple guitars.)
:: no-name 4 string with standard passive P/J setup.
:: peavey tko65 amp
:: boss ceb-2 bass chorus
:: boss tu-2 tuner
:: boss dd-3 digital delay (leftover from my guitar days, but has come in handy.)

the band i play in is called thirteen (Link Removed). kind of a new-school hard rock thing, i guess.. if you check out any of the mp3s on the site, that's not me playing.. they were recorded before i joined..

chris
