What's the Hz Per Deg (hpd)?
(150hz - 30hz) / 300deg = 0.4hpd

Where's 40hz?
((40hz - 30hz) / 0.4hpd) + 30deg = 55deg

Where's 50hz?
((50hz - 30hz) / 0.4) + 30deg = 80deg

Haroldo came up with the same compass locations, so double verified LOL.

If I ever get my hands on a WD800, I'll do some actual measurements, and see how closely they line-up.
Looks like around 8:00 on the Hi Pass would not remove useful (fundamentals), but would remove any sub-harmonic stuff that would simply waste power.

Practice rig tonight:

WD phones out to an old Logitech iPod speaker. Can hear every note, keeps up with spotify played through an echo. Gave my Roland cube practice amp to my son-in-law when he recently bought a guitar. This is better!

I have the 212 and the WD800, but owned a D-800 and D-800+. The Subway tone vibe IMHO can't be beat especially for rock. I also need to dial in a scooped slap friendly tone on occasion and this gear provides. Not sure how to dial in a metal tone because I've never been in a metal band, but the flexibility these products provide seems to work for a lot of people. The 212 is a little more squat but deeper and wider than my previous 212 but still very manageable under 53 lbs. If I were in a band that placed really heavy demands on my rig I'd go for the 215. The sensitivity of these cabs is quite good.

Good question.
Initially I was going to buy the subway 212 but for just another 8lbs, with wheels + slide rails, I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with the 215 instead... it's only ~ 6" taller and just an inch deeper... based on past experience, I imagine the 215 with these features will be easier to lug around than the 212 or 410. I play hard rock, I'm downsizing from a larger GK rig, going to pair the 215 with a D800 (No + or WD for me, like it simple).

Your ears are key, as everyone's details are different (bass, cabs, technique, gig, room, etc).

My advice - start with eq at noon, voicing knob all the way CCW (off). See what you think. Then add the deep switch. See what you think. Take the deep switch off and tweak the voicing. See what you think. Then mess with eq. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Nice - my PH215 is the only big and heavy Mesa cab I've kept, since it's too awesome to let go... I hope you like yours as much as I like mine:

So I went into a music shop looking for the Aguilar 751DB intent that that was going to be my choice of Bass Head and they didn’t have one but what they did have was a Mesa Prodigy Four88. Omg I fell in love there and then. I played it through an Aguilar DB410 and got an exact vibe for the tones I am looking for. (Side note, the shop was a big cement building with no flimsy walls so room didn’t even come into it).
I’m so psyched to get this because as I mentioned on this post previously, I’m all about the warmth of tubes(This has 4) and in my opinion, they can’t be topped by SS or tube pre only. Not to demean that gear but it ain’t the same.

So, I’ve had my WD-800 for about a month now. Between 3 different Barefaced cabs (BBII, Two10 and ST) and 3 different Audiokinesis cabs (H1203, C112T and C1533), my absolute favourite pairing for some moderately Grindy rock/country/blues tones is the BF SuperTwin. The AK 12 stack is just as good but it just comes down to a personal “this rocks” tone. The AK’s have a 3D smoothness that is fantastic but there’s something about the ST/WD pairing that has a visceral “smack in your gut strings” feeling that enhances the experience.
I can’t get a bad sound out of any of the combinations but that pairing is definitely sticking together.
There’s nothing polite about it. Totally not PC.
This is with the amp set as flat as possible. Everything at noon except Passive mid and treble at 10:30 ish.
I can get the same feel from the AK 12’s with a few extra tweaks from the amp but there’s something in the simplicity of the single cab, no tweaking set up that’s rather rewarding.
I’ve really enjoyed the D800 and the Plus, but the WD has punched my ticket.
No Voicing Knob? No big deal. Passive Mid Knob covers all my tonal wishes.
No Deep Switch? Don’t miss it with the WD. It’s got plenty of booty in it.
No Bright Switch? The WD doesn’t need it. It’s bright enough as is.
I’m still wanting to try the Mesa 215 but will have to move some pieces to facilitate this.

The WD-800 is my Goldicorn amp.


(Or should that be Unilocks?) wtfdik? It’s good. Real good.
