New mesa subway amps and cabs!

I will certainly be buying one of the new Subway cabinets, it's just a matter of which one and when. I would even consider selling my Powerhouse 210 to help Finance the transaction.

I would love to find some Mesa amp sims and IRs for bass. There are a ton of guitar VSTs out there, but almost none for bass that I've found.

Yeah man, the IEM/DI crowd + the

IMHO ... The Triad was one of the worst cabinets I have ever used. I just couldn’t get a good sound from it.

I used one for a while bc my buddy lent it to me.
15" would smack the grille, and the tweeter was best left off.

Still free is free.

On this WD-400 is the DI level controlled by the preamp volume? I like to adjust stage volume with the master without changing level to the FOH.

Man that WD-800 really makes me wish the rest of my band would get off their butts and we could get back to gigging 10-12 times a year. I want one bad but just can't justify it right now. I don't even use my D800 much anymore as I use a small combo amp at our practice space whenever we do practice. But if we get back on it, rest assured if we get back in the swing of things I shall have one

You should try one out when you get a chance and I promise it'll get you motivated to go out and play more!

I was a big fan of SWR gear and used it for a very long time but that Triad was a real curiosity in their product line.

The only issue I'm going to have is deciding between the 410, the 212, and the 215. All three would suit me just fine, but they all have their upsides and various abilities. That 215 really tickles all the right places for me except that I don't necessarily need the abilities of that cabinet when the 212 will likely provide everything that I need. Considering that it's performance is likely equal to or surpassing that of my Powerhouse 4-ohm 210 which serves as a great small to medium and even occasionally large stage monitor, I doubt I would need more than the 212. There are situations that I run into where I need to use my cabinet to cover an entire medium sized room when the bass cannot be put in the mains. That would be the point of debate for me between going with the 212 or the 215, although the 410 would probably cover all options for me without any trouble. Hmm mm....Maybe 410? But a lighter weight neodymium 215 cab that rocks the kasbah is just the cat's pajamas.....

I’m really interested in the WD800 and the lighter cabs. I had a walkabout and traded it for a Lakland and have been using my big block 750 with two powerhouse 1x12 cabs ever since. With it now being 800 Watts, the WD800 amp is even more alluring. @agedhorse can you make a tonal comparison between the big block 750 and WD800?

I have been an insane Walkabout fan for years and use a Scout combo as well as a WB head in a Mesa headcase. I just came home this past weekend with a new Subway 115/112 speaker combo and have been rocking a D-800 for a couple years through Scout extension and powwrhouse cabs. The idea of a hybrid design that pairs the best of the WAlkabout with the best of the Subway series is intoxicating! The new cabs look amazing too. Can’t wait to try the new offerings.

Given what my SW115 can do, especially when its SW112 little brother comes along, I can't imagine a situation where the 215 would need any help doing any heavy lifting! While your Mesa PH210 is probably one of the most capable on the planet, my guess is that even it would immediately surrender to a SW215.

I'm hoping to able to try out a SW215 soon and will share my impressions when that comes to pass.

Walter Woods Electacoustic amps are Class D rackable (IIRC, they came to market in the late '90s). But, Mesa has a superior support mechanism in place.

A subway 610 would surely make us all lose our minds.
When I messaged AgedHorse a few months back, he said they were doing a new run of WA rack ears- I should have known something was brewing.

The Horse built pretty much what everyone wanted.
And since he wouldn’t build just anything you told him to, it must mean that we got some wise bassists around these parts.

My experience with poplar is it is considered a soft wood.

Note that Poplars are a "hardwood" and slower growth Italian poplar materials are reasonably hard. Not as hard as oak, but I wouldn't want to use oak in the manufacturer of speakers anyway.

It should indeed work like this, that's how the other Subway amps are. They have a true DI.
