New mesa subway amps and cabs!

Will there ever be a Subway 810?

Since the whole thing with the Subway line is "ultra-light" I doubt it. I don't know by I assume the "Subway" name came from the idea that the stuff is small and modular, and a bass player could get to the gig with his gear on the subway?

There's always the 2x410 option..

I don't think I've ever even seen someone on here post about the Subway 410 - I'm sure they have, but you just don't see as much about the 10s.

I like to wheel my cabs instead of deadlift.
Also in EU, a SW410 is €2400 (same as PH810 trad, but those are discontinued).

Barefaced has a 40kg 810 which seems like a good deal to me, but I miss my Mesa sound.

I was also surprised that there’s nothing about the Subway 4x10. I think they have been overshadowed by the new favorite 2x12 Cabs. when things get back to normal and depending on what is happening I might purchase a 4x10. The Goliath 4x10 was/is always a great cabinet.

Yeah, TB seems to be anti-410 because of off-axis something something, but pretty much any stage will have one or more 410 cabs.

A fellow bass player friend of mine has the subway 410 and it's an amazing cab. I've personally played on it and loved it too.

Well I finally get to check out a Mesa WD800. I woke up this morning with an “Out for Delivery” notification on my phone. Looking forward to hearing how it sounds through my Berg HT-322.

The amp arrived this afternoon but unfortunately I only got to spend about 10 minutes playing through it. I will say this though. I’ve already found that it can do a really nice Walkabout tone (although a bit more focused IMO) and it can get really close to the sound of the D880+.
That’s enough for me to know it’s a keeper!

Love the damping selection and HPF controls.

Looks like I missed getting the transferable warranty by one month. The build date in my amp was March 26, 2019. No problem though. Mesa Amps are like the energizer rabbit. They just keep on going.

The WA and the WD are killer through my Berg cab too. Congratulations on a great rig!!

I'm sorry if this question has been asked before but I couldn't find it. Does the WD800 have cab sim for DI? The Owner's manual mentions cab sim for Headphone output but nothing under the DI section.

Nope, I don't think so.

The cab emulation circuitry is there for headphones only. As I recall from the circuit flow diagram that cab sim circuitry comes much later in the signal path than where the pre or post DI signal is derived.

The DI is a studio quality output suitable for pro use and a cab sim wouldn't be appropriate for that.
