@agedhorse Do the Mesa 4x10 cabs use .5 alignment ? If not, are there measures taken to counter “beaming” that’s typical of horizontally aligned speakers?

The 4 x 10" drivers are run full range. In practice beaming is not a big deal, in part due to the fairly shallow curvilinear cone and in part due to the uniformity of off axis response in the drive we used. It's the same driver as in the 210, chosen for the same properties.

Beaming can be a problem in any multi-driver cabinet, that's why it's important to consider the driver's polar response uniformity whenever designing a multi-driver cabinet.

I can assure you that there was not one control that even came close on the prototype I played!!

While there was no specific "common sense control", I would argue that linear pot tapers for input and master, a variable HPF, and the 4/8 or 2 Ohm switch could easily be considered multi-function controls in that regard.

This may not have a straight/easy answer, but with all other variables being the same, and with relatively flat EQ settings, would the WD-800 have more or less “perceived volume” than the D-800+? Let’s say, if they’re each being played through two 8 ohm Subway cabs, same bass, same cables, etc. I know “perceived loudness” is subjective, so that may be tough to answer.

Tough question, with a maybe answer. I think it would depend somewhat on your perception as well as personal taste of the native voicings.

I would expect things to bexa little quicker, but the holidays may slow things up a bit. I also don't know if they may have already sold out of their initial allocation. These products have generated more interest than many dealers expected, so some man not have been as well prepared as others.

I got my preorder in as soon as it showed up on the website, so hopefully it will be a little quicker than that. I can't wait!!
