New mesa subway amps and cabs!

heh, yes.
decisions, decisions
I currently own:
- Walkabout (my beloved and much used v2 silverface with active/passive switch and FX loop on/off switch).
- D800+ which I have gotten used to, but still am not completely in love with ... mostly due to its tangibly Carbine style tone/sound characteristics. Great features and it does sound great on a gig (haven't used it to record yet).
- Demeter VTBP-M-800DJ which I got while chasing the higher powered (than my WA) tube hybrid thing. Nice amp in its own right, but
definitely not a Walkabout style flavor.

I have a few other amps around here too, some which I'll never sell (Fender Studio Bass), some which I would seriously consider selling without any real regrets (SVT 6Pro, PF500).

so, what are the D800/D800+ owners who really wanted a higher powered Walkabout thinking about doing now that the WD-800 is out ?

Or, what about folks like me, with an original Walkabout and a D800+ (or D800) ... will you keep them all, or will one or the other get sold in favor of the WD-800 ?

My suggestion is to wait a bit until some of you early adopters get a chance to play the new amp and describe your impressions. Everybody has different tastes. Also, the WD-800 is larger and a little bit heavier than the D-800/D-800+ so this alone may factor into a player's decision...

I have a 2x12 that is plenty happy to have something like this resting upon it :D

Went to my local MB dealer today to ask when they are coming in..... He said I was the umpteenth person who inquired about it. They are getting 4 (only 4 allowed per store) in by the 15th and 2 are already accounted for. He was very surprised about the interest and said this is going to be huge!

I wish my knob had that control.

With the tube in the signal path of the WD800 I'm wondering if I could expect more "sparkle" on the high end.
Thanks to Chef, it has a little more high end transparency than the original Walkabout. We have heard a few players wish for a little more, Chef was the most persuasive ;)
