I don't know specifically, but sometimes we will include freebies to the earliest adopters (like the first few sold).

I was torn between the wd800 and d800plus... but I believe my wife bought me the wd for Christmas (she rocks)!! but now I see the subway + preamp pedal. how close does she (the pedal) sound to the real d800+?? and would it virtually give me a true d800+ by running her into the wd bypassing the wd pre...

Good question with a somewhat complicated answer... of course

Yes, the Subway Plus pre-di is very, very close to the original D-800+ preamp, and yes, it can be used into either the effects return (WD-800 preamp will not be active) or into the aux input (the WD-800 preamp will be active.

If you choose the Aux input, you will have effectively a 2 channel amp that you can use with 2 different basses. For 2 instruments (one into each preamp), you would switch channels by muting and unmuting. You could also have 2 separate DI outs, as the aux in signal is not routed to the DI out on the WED-800. This is particularly useful where one of the inputs may be an upright.

You COULD use 1 bass with both preamps by splitting the signal but because some filters flip the polarity, you would need to be aware of this possibility and that some functions could not be selected in opposing modes. (this is generally true in any parallel signal processing scenario, particularly common in pro audio and the recording world, and I have mentioned it before).

MBH said they were included by Mesa in the first several boxes, but that they are not included. I asked when I ordered mine last Friday.

Initial living room power-up impression w my D800? Just what the freakin' doctor ordered...and w the deep switch on? Wow... and it's actually smaller than I had envisioned. Will fit nicely in the back of my Kia Soul.

Unfortunately, no gig til NYE, and no band rehearsal til after Xmas. Argh...

Looks like this puppy is going to run about a grand. Looks like it has all the bells and Whistles anybody could ever want in an amp.

If anybody knows, finding out what the power output is at an 8 ohms and 4 ohms load appears to be a closely guarded secret. The only thing I could find was it will drive 800 watts @ 2ohms. Just curious how much the drop off is if any, as the load goes up.

There are plenty of detailed specs. in the owner's manual that's available to download from the website.

I must have downloaded the wrong owners manual from the Mesa website. There was no mention of what the output was at 4 ohms or 8 ohms.

BTW, that is a really nice design. If I either have to replace my Eden gear, or get a wild hair to do something different, that would be my first choice. Really well done.

I received my WD-800 & 215 cab from Hollywood Store today and didn’t get a foot switch or candy, so I think a few people just got lucky.
