Are all Baxandall Eqs created equal ?
In other words will the eq create a sound similiar to a flip top or a pedal like the
Barber Linden eq pedal just because it is designed with a Baxandall eq ?

Right on! That's some buttery deliciousness.

Actually, I have a 4 ohm cabinet rated at 600 watts and that's exactly how I'm running it. At the advice of @agedhorse I've been running it at the 2 ohm setting, which puts out about 6oo watts. Low damping sounds so sweet with that cab!

Some A/B-ing with steubig who brought one of his 6'ers and Ak TC112 cab. The WD800 sounds great through the TC112 - very 3D to my ear.

Acid test tonight - Steely Jam at the Moose. Gets loud, and 10 piece band has a lot going on.

Short story - the WD800 just crushed it. Even switching between a passive P and an active Fodera (just tweak the input). Already found the eq settings I like, brilliant preamp design. Something special about the passive tone stack with the parametric. Turns out 3 bands actually is useful...

The tube position is biased load line wise to work best with the 12AT/AU which is a very different tube than the 12AX7. This has nothing to do with "gain". The 12AX7 will not be as consistent from tube to tube, the articulation and dynamics will generally suffer compared with the 12AT/AU7.
