New MXR pedals

You know what I like most about that demo video? The dude doesn't play slap bass! I understand a lot of people want to know how things sound for slap, but I hate it when videos are 99% slap and 1% noodling high up on the neck.

I play slap exactly 0% of the time and a couple times a show I play high up on the neck. I would guess that most people play lower on the neck most the time (I mean it is called bass for a reason).

Please give us something that actually allows us to hear how the product sounds in meat and potatoes use!

Even more I hate demos where palm-muted pick playing and/or chords dominate. Chords.

It doesn't really make sense for the Bass Overdrive to be mostly for the 'big fuzz' seeing as the Bass Fuzz Deluxe is out there. Being that the Bass Overdrive is based off of the Way Huge Pork Loin, one would suspect that it is indeed like the Pork Loin save for a more neutral sounding clean blend, a slightly tweaked overdrive tone, and more gain available. Therefore, there's no reason to suspect that it wouldn't do well with a subtle tube drive sound.

The one thing I don't like about the demo is that it sounds like he left the chorus on while he demoed the overdrive.

Don't know how many they have or if they even have any left but alto music has them in silver. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1351810796.636906.jpg

I might just punt and put an M80 on my Christmas wish list. It's got OD, it's got a DI, it's got a parallel out, it's got a 3 band EQ, it's got a vintage-sounding "color" switch and it's nearly $80 cheaper than its nearest SansAmp competitor, the paradriver.

Just be careful with that Color switch mate. It does do a fair mid scoop that sounds awesome solo but I found it got lost in a loud rock band. I found myself fighting it a little, plus the distortion is quite aggressive at low levels.
It is a good pedal with a well planned EQ and great silent DI. I have used mine many a time straight into desk for acoustic/duo gigs where I didn't bring an amp - I just didn't dig it for loud band stuff as I basically love my tone that I get with bass - OD pedal - amp. It was uneccesary for my needs and as mentioned the Color switch was too much of a mid scoop for me.

Distortion channel on M80 is pretty aggressive even on low levels, that's true. But there is a work-around for that, just turn down the volume on your bass and compensate with the distortion volume knob on the M80, it's got plenty of headroom. Works wonders if you are into that creamy overdrive instead of straight distortion.
