New PJ Mustang at Summer NAMM

A number of European distributers are listing a slightly cheaper MIJ Mustang bass on presale at the moment. This is alongside the PJ bass in this thread. I'm not sure what the deal is, or if there is a mixup, but I would definitely like an Olympic White MIJ Mustang bass over the PJ bass.

Care to mention which distributors? Are they actually showing images or just info?

Coda Music for one, and Guitarguitar did have them. Thomann had them as well. All list them out of stock, with a mystery release date of 'October' cited. They are recycling images from the last MIJ Mustang, that sold up to a few years ago. What confuses me most is the price. These new PJ Mustangs are £680 GBP give or take, and these new MIJ Mustangs are apparently £520. I'm now thinking it is a SNAFU from Fender distributers to dealers, but I may be wrong!

Unless Fender found a containerload of MIJ Mustangs they misplaced, I doubt that is going to happen.

I did wonder if they found a shipping container somewhere with NOS Mustangs inside. Otherwise I don't see Fender commissioning their Japanese division to make Mustang basses with the same specs as the last release, to retail at sub-MIM/MIC prices. Still, I won't complain if it is true!
