New PJ Mustang at Summer NAMM

Seems too light a blue to me, but if you look at them side by side (almost) you can see the blue is not white.

Open them in separate tabs and you can see the difference. Look at the 'blue' one first and you wonder if it is blue. Then click on the white and you can see it is 'whiter'.

I was going to get a blue one, now I am not so sure.

About the video - for a bass like this, I'd like to see an on-screen display of which of the three positions the switch is in,
where the tone control knob is set, what the settings are on the amp (that one has a lot of dsp functions)
and where on the string (ahead of or behind) each of the pickups he's playing.

Of course, if you watch it many times, look and listen closely, and maybe pause it at the right spots, you might
be able to figure it out.

But, IMO, a demo video should give more info about the bass than about the person's playing.

I watched this a couple hours ago and didn't have any trouble figuring out what settings were being used. Not gonna go back and watch it again, but IIRC, it was neck pup with tone up, then he rolled the tone back, then both pups, then the back pup.

This is as close to my dream bass as i could ever hope for in a mass produced instrument. Put some money doen on one this week.

They aremim,which i have been too impresed with in the past, but the one i tried is really well made. Reminds me a lot of the crafted in japan guitars i have played/owned over the years. Hoping i there is room under the pickguard to turn tbe three way swith to go up and doen instead of side to side since i am used to gibson guitar switches. My only qualm on an otherwise outstanding offering by fender.

The blue is so light it could almost pass for white in some lighting. This, however, doesnt bother me as the only one i could find in a local shop was blue, and i am not a fan of sonic blue.

I owned a JB62SS for a couple months earlier this year, and this Mustang is better. The fret spacing is even better for a short fingered player, which is odd since this Mustang is an inch longer in scale, and it sounds just as good as the JB62SS. The Mustang body is a bit bigger, too, which is better in my opinion. The JB62SS was an exceptionally made bass, but the body was just a bit too small for my taste.

I'm still fairly new to bass, but I'm thinking this bass has neck, both, and bridge positions on the switch, then it's tone up or down in each of those positions, and finger, pick, and slap playing for each of those six settings, plus a whole laundry list of other variables that could come into play.

I'm just saying that the video is better than nothing, but could have been done a whole lot better by giving some indication of
what he was doing with it.

I would love a black pickguard on a black body, but I don't know how a sunburst would go over with a smaller body like this.

Someone earlier said they were heavy, but the one I tried did not feel too heavy to me. To be honest, with a smaller bass I'd hate for it to feel too light and kinda flimsy. That's a personal thing, though.

I think it sounds great. I love the 3-way switch. Love the P/J pups. And you guys, it has a satin finish on the neck. I deal with the gloss on my other Fenders, but have always preferred the satin finish on the Squier necks. This Fender has the satin finish I love.

Fit and finish is lovely. I'm glad Fender came out with these, and I hope they keep them available for a long time.

I was really delighted to find the gloss headstock and the satin finish back of neck. Fender really nailed it on these basses.

This is great as my fingers are on the shooter side as bass playing goes. Im going to have to check one out ASAP. I dont see it taking the place of my beloved P Junior but I like the versatility of it being a P+J setup.
