Squire makes a mini P bass. Not sure how good it is.Looks interesting!
Is there a good singlecoil P short scale bass out there too?

I haven't read all the comments, but the benefit of thru-body here would be to open up more string options. One could potentially not be limited to only short scale strings, which is a good thing.

La Bella makes a Deep Talkin' set (760F-MUS) for the MIA thru-body only Fender Mustang. Even though the Banshee bridge supports top-loaded strings in addition to thru-body, I plan to restring with the La Bella's for the Mustang. I want to see how they perform. I've got top-loaded DTFs on my Gibson and Ibanez and love them.

IMO they made a mistake with the string thru body bridge and the price. Guess they wanted to compete with the Mustang.....I like it though
Ive had several Mustangs over the years and a Banshee for about 4 months. I'll take the Banshee any day.
It’s not like the components on the stingray are low end.I have a SBMM shorty and love it but really wanted a short scale P bass. The Banshee is on my list next b/c of the high end parts a P configuration.
