Squire makes a mini P bass. Not sure how good it is.

I haven't read all the comments, but the benefit of thru-body here would be to open up more string options. One could potentially not be limited to only short scale strings, which is a good thing.

I’ve had a Banshee for a few months: I can confirm the bad will accept full scale strings. With the full size shaft on the tuners and the string thru option, it can be used with your fave round wounds. I had some Dunlop 45-105 Nickel Brights and SS strings and they worked superbly.

Flat-wounds have other factors to consider. Due to the inner core, I recommend the short scale sets from other manufacturers, using the top-load option. I can confirm the LaBella MUS set is the only set that works thru-body, due to the winding length needed (33”)

La Bella makes a Deep Talkin' set (760F-MUS) for the MIA thru-body only Fender Mustang. Even though the Banshee bridge supports top-loaded strings in addition to thru-body, I plan to restring with the La Bella's for the Mustang. I want to see how they perform. I've got top-loaded DTFs on my Gibson and Ibanez and love them.

I was able to use these with the Banshee. I purchased the exact same color. After reading your post, I put the LaBella MUS on mine, and it sounds fantastic. Thanks for the info!

It's a nice bass and all................but

IMO, kind of over priced! You can get a Squire Bronco for $199 and change out the pickup for about $40.

IMO they made a mistake with the string thru body bridge and the price. Guess they wanted to compete with the Mustang.....I like it though

The Banshee is a great bass. I’ve had it for a couple months, and am really glad I got it. To me, it may be marketing to compete with the Mustang, but they are different beasts.

The Banshee is more of a modern twist, bringing a superbly playable short scale bass into the 21st century. Although, an import bass, it benefits from the Schecter R&D that keeps its pulse on the player’s needs. It has a flatter radius (16”), carbon fiber rods, nice C back profile, Gotoh res-o-lite Tuners, spoke wheel truss access, graphite nut, ergonomic access to upper frets, high output QP pickup (not everybody’s taste, I know) and a high quality fit/finish.

I love a good Bronco/Mustang, especially the Vintera and JMJ. This bass has higher price point than the MIM’s, which (IMO only) is superior in build to those offerings. I would be hard pressed to say it beats a Fender shorty in the higher price pint, but with a little upgrades (I replaced the pots & jack with CTS/Switchcraft components) it can be in the same league as any higher quality bass.

I will take it over the MIA and any other type of Mustang also. The Banshee is simple, yet it has lots of quality. The comparison to a Squire by looks in an earlier post is silly.

I have an EBMM Stingray shortie and I find the Banshee to be comparable with the necks being nearly identical in dimensions. Sure the paint job on the Stingray is fancier, but I am fine with the plain gray on the Banshee.

Titanium reinforced neck and truss adjusting wheel are higher end features that do not come cheap. The bridge is high mass and has ample room for intonation adjustment. The pick up is pretty hot and the bass is punchy.

It has everything I would want on a P bass already. There is nothing to upgrade and just need to play it as it is. Lovely!

I have a SBMM shorty and love it but really wanted a short scale P bass. The Banshee is on my list next b/c of the high end parts a P configuration.

I was debating between the Banshee and the SMMSS but went with the latter due to price and the fact that I don’t like painted headstocks!

I think both of them made me realize that I like white basses. I think the Banshee looks absolutely ace in white with the pearl pick guard. You could swap that out with just about any pearl color and have a bass for all seasons.

This afternoon I put Alembic CX-3/45S strings on it that just arrived, lowered the action a bit, and this bass is giving me the quivers. Jamming it through New Years Eve!
