The SRX 725 has a mahogany body & maple/walnut neck thru and they paint it black!!!!??? I wonder who decides the colors at Ibanez, probably a gothic/black/thrash metal hardcore fan

The math is simple

Ibanez wants to sell basses + a lot of metal heads like ibanez basses + metal heads usually like black = a lot of ibanez black basses

Yeah, those old pots are shocking. I couldn't believe how flimsy they felt when I tried out a K5.

My guess is they don't want the international markets seeing the new models before the big unveiling at Winter NAMM. The USA line is usually the same as the Japanese, but with a few different and additional colours.
They probably don't want people getting a sneak peek.

They are custom made for Ibanez basses.

I believe they are the same you find on SR1000 models and I think you can buy them from Bartolini, just mail them with your request.

I like the Prestige SR4005E in transparent black. Also, the ATK in a 5'er would be sweet in the mist color.
