If you're used to how a good high-powered amp responds, when you push the low-end through a good, familiar cab, you'll generally find out 1st hand.
Otherwise, wait for BGM to check it out (unless you have your own measuring equipment).

Snob much? There's nothing wrong with Peavey. One of my basses is a Peavey and it's never been anything but solid. They make some great amps, too.
Guy named Peavey said I had low standards for playing what I play. It was a response to him if you look at it. No offense meant to you.
You may not have meant offense, but you slagged a make of both basses and amps that lots of people play and love, so you certainly gave it.
Doesn't matter, in this case.
The implication was that only people who have low standards play Peavey. If you want to insult someone, it's best to make the insult specific enough that you don't end up saying a nasty thing about a huge number of completely uninvolved people. Just because you didn't mean to insult a bunch of other people besides the person you were specifically arguing with doesn't magically make it okay.
Especially since in this case, it played on the same annoying, stupid Peavey-bashing that gear elitists have engaged in for years. If the brand had been "Fender" or "Gibson," you'd similarly be called out on it.
Sure.
But criticizing a specific practice of a company, or a specific aspect of an amp, or a bass, or saying that it's lowering one's standards in a specific way to put up with some rather deceptive business/advertising practices, is a lot different from saying "if you play this brand, you have low standards, period."
In my case, I have nothing against the actual hardware that TCE produces... I just wish they wouldn't vastly overstate the power ratings of their equipment.
I'm not sure what you want me to say? You were trying to insult PeaveyCL400, and in doing so, insulted everyone who plays anything made by Peavey, which includes me. When I said basically "hey, that's not cool," you tried to justify what you said and weasel out of it.
Looking forward to their new octave UP tone print option. I play an 8 and 12 string occasionally. Curious how this will compare. I've always been surprised at the lack of octave UP effects. Most are down. Hope it can work on my bg250 1st gen. Just ordered a RH450 for $400. I want the 3 memory/settings more than the added power. But the new ones look really cool and I was tempted to preorder.

If you substitute CL's handle there it doean't even make sense.
Call me a hater but I feel like Talkbass is a better place for all the members that want to keep manufacturers honest.
TC Electronic has some serious technology in their amps. A lot of time and engineering went in to making them what they are. Hats off to them.
Where they went wrong was handing the reigns to an insecure marketing department.
Instead of marketing their amps for their amazing performance they lied with numbers.
I applaud every time this is revealed to somebody that didn't know. And the "hater" that exposes the nefarious marketing lie, he's Batman IMO.

The difference is Peavey's presence here will fess up to it, and apologize. They have also moved away from that.
Yeah we all make mistakes. I have mucho respect for anybody that can admit it. Can't wait for their new 1000w whoppers to come out and get bench tested.

TCE makes great gear. It's a shame they don't simply let it stand on its own merits rather than advertising grossly inflated power specs. They clearly have some skilled engineers working for them, they just give the marketing people too much control, which is, unfortunately, common.

Hey. I took some blue tack or the likes and shoved it into each plastic button of the RH750 and then stuck it back on the amp. The buttons no longer fall off
I'm hoping they sound more neutral than the RH line.
I really loved the features on the RH450 but it was a little bit like a vegetarian hamburger.

It just doesn't put out that satisfying bassy kick.
I actually had a big problem with it in my ska band. The other guys were not liking my tone so got me to bring all my basses to a rehersal to try them out. We ended up preferring the Duesenberg I was using but they still weren't thrilled. At the next gig I brought an Eden WT550 and there were grins all round.
Anyway... I loved the feature set of the RH450 - just not the tone. That footwsitch with preset EQs is fantastic for doubling with the upright. So I'm all ears with this new product.
