New Traynor Dyna Bass combos

I didn't get a chance to compare the volume of the MB150 to others in the store except for a 120 watt Polytone with a single 15 and the Yorkville XM50C, which I already have at home.
The GK is about equal to the Polytone in volume and a fair bit louder than the Yorkville before serious distortion sets in. The Yorkville though stands up pretty good but just can't capture that rich sound of the GK. I'd like to try the Traynor Dynabass 100 if it ever makes it to the stores. I'd expect it to be pretty good in comparison to others.
I'm thrilled with the GK. I've used these amps before but never owned the MB150. I'd like to try it with the matching extension cabinet but they didn't have one in the store. I've heard from others though who have used it and they say it does make the amp more capable of filling a small room. I did once use the MB150 with a nice sounding and very efficient Eden 1x10 extension cabinet and it sounded pretty darn good.
Fdeck, who posts here often has done a fair bit of testing with this amp I believe and has built a Neo 1x12 extension cabinet that looks like a good way to go. It wouldn't be as light as the GK aluminium extension cabinet but pretty light nevertheless.
As I said, I still want to try the Dynabass amps at some time, but I needed a small and light amp right now and couldn't wait any longer. The other alternatives I tried just didn't measure up. Either too heavy or too much money by comparison or dubious quality.

...Yorkville and Traynor are the best kept secrets 
and values in amps cabs and PA systems-and they are bullet proof...I keep trying to find a better amp than My Yorkie 800, but every time I 
A/B it with another amp-I like the Yorkie better
...so I'll probably always keep it ,even if I do find a better one-it would be an excellent back up amp...Peace...DAcat

The DB50 and DB100 have been a moving target - there's a lot of new products in the works. At least they make sure things are really right before we ship new products.
As an aside, I got to play around with the DB200 at the Christmas party - lotsa fun.

Great service from the guys there, by the way.I'm sure I'll eventually get a chance to try the little Dynabasses. For the price I was quoted as their retail, you should sell a boatload of them. I hope Yorkville can make the Chinese continue the company's high quality. I know it can be done.

As far as new products-I'd love to see some good sounding, lightweight Neo bass cabinets with Yorkville quality and at a good price. I'm sure that will come. I'm not getting any younger, stairs are getting steeper and a lot of us old geezers need all the help we can get.
I owned the Yorkville XM 200T for about a year. The sound was very good and it did everything I expected it to. I'm looking forward to trying the Traynor DynaBass version. Yorkville/Traynor has come a long way since I first used one of the early 100 watt bass combos around 1980.

Yes, around here it's hard to find a small club where the PA isn't Yorkville. Makes it easy to do your own sound when there's no house sound man. After a couple clubs you've got it all figured out.
The 800 is real powerhouse. I'm sure it'll keep you happy for many years.

I agree concerning the Neo drivers. I'm not invloved with those types of product discussions and I wouldn't put words in anyone's mouth, but I can tell you that the acceptance of Neodymium as a magnet material in instrument amps, while growing, is still not nearly complete. Even in the pro audio world, there are those out there that equate weight with quality or performance. I think there will come a tipping point where they'll make that change - it's widely used in our PA products and is creeping into instrument amps. The soon to be released Custom Special YCS90 tube guitar combo weighs in around 45 lbs, and uses a pair of neo Celestion 12"s. Toroidal transformers help, too...
I am asking for a bass for christmas, so i've been trying a lot of amps. I tried the dynabass 200, and it sounded GREAT!!! I love the sound of it. It actually has a good bass sound to it rather than an electric guitar that is tuned down a lot!!! lol. It still sounds great even when you crank it up. If anybody owns a dynabass 200, please reply to this before christmas and tell me the strengths and weaknesses. Thanks a lot.
You can check back on the Yorkville threads and find lots about the Yorkville XM200 which is basically the same amp. The new Traynor Dynabass 200 supposedly sounds even better. I highly recommend it. By itself it'll handle a small club and do even better with an extension cabinet. There's a decent D.I. to go into the PA and lots of goodies. Good eq capabilities and solid and reliable with an unbeatable warranty. Those are the main strengths I can think of looking back on the year I used the Yorkville 200.
Weaknesses-just the weight. At my age it matters. Maybe not for you.
