New Zoom B3 has arrived!!!!

Got mine on Monday, and had a play around last night

First impressions - pretty damn good!! I've stuck to the presets so far, and there are few useable ones in there (plus quite a lot of chuff) - but for the money I'm pretty stoked with it. The Octaver tracks better than my EBS and sounds more 'Hi-Fi' and less sloppy on the bottom end.

Biggest complaint - It's a bit noisy at times (but only a bit)

I now have the problem of getting it in the right place in my fx rig.

The main reason I bought it was to get some compression on my signal - but I'm not quite sure the best place to stick it.

I've got loads of (almost too many) options, running a Genz Benz shuttle MAX 12 - so there's 3 FX loops to choose from (FET / Tube / Master) or right at the front of the chain, before the amp.

-Dunlop Wah
-MXR Blow Torch

Fet Loop
-EHX Bass Muff

-MXR Env Filter

-No FX, only cranking the tube for some dirt

Where to put it!!

I know its all personal preference - but open for any suggestions.

Playing a mixed bag of covers (Foos, Muse, Chilis, Pink +++ ) which all need different noises and an easy way to flop between them all!

It is noisy even with no effects active, but it it's a high pitched hiss that accompanies each note you play and stops when you stop playing. I can't hear it through my tweeterless cab but I can through headphones.

Noise hasn't really been an issue for me on most of the stuff I've tried on the B3 so far. Of course depending on which effects you're using and where you have the settings you can get some noise. I've also found using the ZNR noise reduction effect can be helpful.

Just received mine yesterday and played with it for only 30 min. I just love it. I am quite new to bass and not really effect-crazy but I wanted a multi to try out the sounds I can get out of my MM SR. For the price of one pedal, this Zoom B3 is a steal IMO. At least it's perfect for the use I planned to make of it.
I didn't notice any noise: I used headphones and the sound was absolutely clear.

I'm running it through a Ampeg BA115 which has a bit of hizz from itself so that's why i don't hear any additional hum from the zoom :)

But when I record directly to the pc with the USB connection there is absolutely zero hiss (using Audacity)

I also got it this week, but only had 1 evening to play around with it.
Too me it's a giant quality and usability leap from my old zoom b2.1u!
I really love what i hear from it so far.
Only thing I really have to get used to is the autosave function

For those talking about hiss and noise, are you powering with a daisychain onespot?? Because I was getting noise when I was using onespot. Then when I ran it off its own power supply no more noise.

Fallen into the vortex. Just ordered one from Performance Audio; online code Take5 will save you $5 and it is drop shipped from the manufacturer.

My question: pedal chains with this bad boy? I am envisioning a pedaltrain mini with my Boss OC-2 into my Mammoth clone into the Zoom B3 for synthy, noisy goodness.

How are you chaining yours? Pics?

Just got the new Zoom b3 and it really is a must have for every bassist . You would have to spend $30,000.00 to get everything that's in that little box . Every effect and amp simulator is spot on,it's amazing ! I wish Zoom had developed a really good drum machine that you could use for recording . This unit is just good for practice . I had swore off effects , but this seemed like a good gamble and it paid off BIG TIME!!!!!
