I'm starting to think the experts, who said in the preseason that Miami's defense performance last year was flukish (due to an unusually high number of turnovers), were right.:atoz:

I'm glad the Raiders, specifically Gruden, lost this week. And not just because I live in Chicago.

Mahomes is fantastic and I love watching him play, but KC has to get a defense and a good back who doesn't fumble.

Tonight's win adds a little shine to the Steelers win in week one.

As a Bills fan, I put that loss as the Bills playing like it was the last preseason game instead of the first regular season game. One more game until the bye with no serious, career threatening injuries. (knocks on wood) Rotating 9 D-lineman ALL capable of making a play. Rookie Rousseau is a force and a great value pick at #30 in the first round. This could be the year...

The Steelers should be thankful that Teddy Bridgewater is not that great a QB. That game ending INT would of have been a completion for many other QB's.
They didn't' beat Denver, Denver lost.

The Steelers' JuJu Smith-Schuster out for the season with a shoulder separation. He might have played his last down as a Steeler.

For the life of me, I can't figure out what's special about Ray Ray McCloud. He's quick, but for a return man, he doesn't seem to do anything with that quickness. Continually makes bad decisions to run it out of the endzone rather than take a knee and start out at the 25. Rarely makes it past the 20, if that. I keep thinking, "Maybe Tomlin sees something I'm not seeing because he sticks with him." But I haven't seen much value.

This is got to be one of the most entertaining starts to an NFL season in quite some time. Lots of games coming right down to the wire, only one undefeated team after week 4, some great divisional smackdowns already (thanks NFC West in particular, where they are planning to take turns spanking each other all season).

Feel good for Cincinnati fans, finally something to get excited about. Dallas and Baltimore seem to have all the gears syncing up and turning in the right direction.

Lots of rookie and second-year players rising to the occasion, really fun to watch them grow and improve each week.

Bears showed some real toughness and determination on both sides of the ball grinding out that win in LV. Fields is going to improve as the season goes on, but they do have a tough 3 game stretch coming up. Next week versus the Packers should be interesting.

The Bills looked like they had been chomping at the bit every day since the AFC title loss for this rematch. If they can play that way every game…

Any game with either of the two LA teams, the Browns, or the Ravens holds the potential for a lot of wild and crazy fun. Ravens/Chargers next week has two of those on the same field.

I'm ok with JuJu leaving. Pittsburgh was once known for producing star LB's, but now that's turned into diva WR's instead. Let him leave.
As for McCloud, I'm right there with you. He doesn't produce on game day, so whatever Tomlin sees, he's wrong.

Seems like forever since the Steelers had a good return man.

JuJu only seemed like a star receiver when AB was drawing double coverage. He's still good, but hardly irreplaceable.

Browns and Chargers played a basketball game. Chargers won. Defense? What is that?

Baker must have been thinking he's back in the BIG 12.

I know Leslie Frazier didn't do so well in his first run as an NFL HC, but maybe he's ready now.
I'm done, and been done, with Tomlin. He can take Butler (DC) and Canada (OC) with him. Nothing about Canada impresses me. Supposedly he is innovative, has crafty schemes, on and on. Whatever. He calls a crappy game, especially on third down.
Butler? Don't even get started. That was a lazy, and cheap, hire by the Rooney's. He didn't do anything to deserve taking over for LeBeau. His defenses since then prove it. Aside from the handful of all-pro players he was gifted, he doesn't do much with the rest of the guys.
Clean out the coaching staff Rooney. That's where you'll have to start to do this right.

There are so many theories and not a lot of hard evidence.

I think it was Bill Bryson who wrote the sum total of archaic human fossils ever found would fit into the bed of a pickup truck. I’m paraphrasing from memory ; point being is that archeological fossil record for archaic humans is REALLY sparse. Add to that, DNA extraction/analysis from those fossils is difficult with existing tech. What we do know is far exceeded by what we don’t know.

The behaviours of archaic humans is even more difficult to decipher. It is fun to imagine and theorize, though!

Tomlin will pull out a 9-8 season, roll out the platitudes and get a contract extension. :sour:
