Mike Tomlin claims the Steelers are open for business at the trade deadline. I hope they do the right thing and trade TJ Watt to a real football team. Show the man some respect and let him have a shot at a Super Bowl ring.
Never finishing under 500 may be something Tomlin and his buddies aspire to, but I don't get the feeling TJ set his bar that low.

George Pickens at it again, this time it took six points off the board. Lots of physical talent, but he can't keep his head in the game unfortunately. He should have been moved at the trade deadline.

The number one Steelers forum is full of guys that nitpick everything, no matter the outcome. We could win the Super Bowl and there'd be folks on there who want to fire everyone and start over.

I like wins, no matter how messy. If I can't look past every mistake and weakness of the team to enjoy a win, I'd just stop watching.

Agree. And on the positive side, Warren was good yesterday and the combination with Harris was a running attack like I haven't seen for a while with this team. And say what you want about the D, they made plays when they needed to.

Very sad about my team’s true leader going down last weekend. Grady Jarrett is the heart of the Falcs. Get well.

We scraped up some bum who was cut from Chicago’s practice squad as is the way. Too slow and too cheap to make a move on Sweat. I’ll be a fan forever, no matter what. But the Falcons are the kindest, most hospitable friends of opposing quarterbacks. It would be so unlike us to ever sign or draft a prime Edge LB or tackle. Even the dudes we draft like AK17 (the linebacker formerly known as AK47) or Andersen, they’d just miss the play and run up as if to point at the ball when the play is blown dead.

Terry F, I know you’re reading the NFL thread on TalkBass. Please fix our pass rush.

Naw, I wouldn't complain after a Super Bowl win, or even a playoff win. What ownership and Tomlin have done to this football team is unfortunate. The culture of not finishing under 500 has become the standard. It was never that way when I was growing up with this team.
Great, it was a nice win over Tennessee Thursday night. It didn't feel like a win to me in the sense the Steelers went out and took it, it felt like the Steelers sucked less than the Titans so they got the win. Bonehead plays like the one from Pickens and the stupid penalties made that game way harder than it needed to be.
One of the two things I loved last night was Jones at RT. He's going to be good and I feel part of the reason Warren and Harris had those open running lanes.
Second, Joey Porter, Jr. Yep, he made some mistakes but he's a kid going up against one of the best in the game. He got pulled a couple times after mistakes, but then he was sent right back out there. I think they are handling him and Jones just right.
The rookie LB Herbig is coming along too, but unless he changes positions, I'm not sure how much playing time he'll get.

Joey Porter is the real deal and I hope he remains a Steeler for a long time. He's gotten called on grabby hands jersey pulling in very game I've seen this year. I don't remember that being a problem at Penn State. It's a bad habit he's picked up here since everyone is faster.

Jones is a keeper too. They've taken their time bringing him on board.

Pickett is an enigma. Streaks of bad, then streaks of brilliance. Gotta have patience. It used to be good QBs would still sit on the bench for a couple years before they saw the field.

Canada at times looked scared out of his mind during that game, haha. I know the look. I feel that way when I watch a scary movie I know better not to.
